I was just wondering how long it will take me to get my efficiency rating up to at least 1200? I think it is at about 1050 right now at a little over 4000 games. What is the fastest way to increase it without doing much harm to my win ratio?

Cap and defense points.

Capping

Read a few efficiency rating topics and saw this post about how you can plug in mediocre stats but with a good cap rating it can still be great

What capping points count? If I am on cap and get to 80 point then get killed or go off cap, do those points still get calculated? Or do I only get the points if I if I am on cap for a win?

Only if your points are include in the win.

Cap& Def points add a lot to the Eff score but really the key to good eff is not getting shot.

Efficiency gives a large amount of weight to spots, cap and defense.  If you want to raise your eff score, you could do another 500 damage per match, kill another 0.5 tanks per match, or get 2 more cap points per match.  I imagine you can figure out which is easiest to do.

Now, for ways to do it without affecting your win rate:
Try to focus on the quality stats (damage, kills) so you are more effective, but try to sneak in extra cap points.  If you survive a match, try to finish that match in the cap circle.  Even if the match is going to be a clear victory, and the cap is meaningless.  Getting an extra ~10 points on the maps you survive will quickly boost your rating.  Also, be mindful of opportunities to get large defense  or cap numbers.  Perhaps, stay in cap rather than chasing down those last few tanks.  100 cap or defense points are worth ~15000 efficiency, whereas doing a bit more damage and killing that last opponent will only net you a few hundred.

Of course, those of us who care about stats know how efficiency works, and generally look down on those who have inflated efficiencies due to cap/defense, so you won't fool everyone.  If you just want your name to be green in XVM, though....

Points when you are on cap when the battle ends, win or lose.  Even if you don't win by capping.  If you sit in the circle and get the cap counter to 15 while your team kills off the last tanks, those 15 points count.

Use a lower tier tank that you can do massive damage with.

Cap and defense points.
Also use lower tier tanks that you can do 750+ DMG per game with.  Then you can lower the overall tier and raise the damage in the calculation.
Or just do better...

You must be alive and have the points at the end of the game for them to count.  They also count in a victory where all enemies were destroyed instead on winning via base capture.

You only get them if you win.

Get WOT Statistics and start tracking your eff, it shows you what every battle earns you... that way you can see what works best. I've gotten over 7k effeciency in individual battles, does wonders for your overall rating.

t-50-2 is the best tank to boost your efficiency rating. on alot of maps you can go in for those quick 10+ tank spots, if you manage to live late into a round, you can manage to get alot of cap points, and in the worst case scenario, you're fast enough to run back to your cap, shoot some enemies in the tracks and simply grab some defence points. given you cant control victories too much in the vehicle(unless its an arty party on something like malinovka, prohorovka, etc, etc), but you should be able to break atleast 50/50, or higher if you can platoon with some good arty players.

Buy T-50 and do a lot of suicide scouting. In short, halve your damage, double your spots, efficiency will grow.

So the fastest way is the get a T-50...get early scout lights, run off and hide till the end of the game and run to cap and sit on it? That will increase my rating fast?

Yes, I just want my eff rating to be green in XVM. I think my W/L is purple?

well i wouldn't say hide.

go in for those quick spots, then play the passive scouting roll. only go in when you know there is a massive gap in their defence and you can get to arty/cap circle safely. this is usually when 7-10 enemy tanks have been destroyed.

if your losing the game, just try to stay alive and try to grab some defence points near the end of the game before you die. (make sure to shoot into the tracks, since penning big tanks in the -2 is unreliable)

thats the easiest way to boost efficiency.

A game where you get a cap or a defender can easily give you 15k efficiency. In other words, you can increase your efficiency by 4 per game or so.

Exactly, be the most useless player in your team, do things that are bad for victory, care nothing about your allies. It will make your "efficiency" grow. Do I need to prove any further that it is useless rating?

57% WR in XVM is GREEN, 60% goes Purple, and 1800+ efficiency goes Purple.

1300 battles ago my Efficiency was 1865, and Now its 1859, it went down a few but I'm winning more, doing more damage and killing, etc..Defending a bit more, capping less, and basically I play, "Killem All!" and don't really find myself in the cap circle that much.

I'll taking winning over padding efficiency, anyday. OP, you can just learn to play better, and your efficiency will climb...why do you see the need to pad stats? You did it with WR, and admitted such, and now you want padded efficiency, Why?

You want to be a good player, PLAY GOOD
You want to be a great player, PLAY GREAT

You want to look like something your not? NOT WISE!

57% is purple in XVM BTW, but the player name won't be purple unless their eff rating is 1,800+  too (not sure if battle count will sway that too).

My efficiency has been bouncing between 1710 & 1720 for a long time. I joke with brothers about farming efficiency all of the time. I must be a good farmer because I have the best efficiency out of the three of us. :Smile-hiding:

For a tier 5:

1 kill = 250 eff
1 spot = 200 eff
1 cap/def = 150 eff
2 damage = 1 eff

So, a full 100 cap or defense gives 15000 efficiency.  Doing 6000 damage (nearly the max potential for the T-50-2) and kill all 15 tanks, you get 6750.  And now you know why so many people dismiss efficiency.

I just got the T-50 last night. I used all my converted experience that I was saving for my IS-8 to research the T-50 to be fully upgraded before I played it. Man can this tank move! I was bobbing and weaving through 10 tanks at their base, took out one of their arty and just about had their second dead when I was killed myself. All this in the first 30 seconds of the match. LOL

Efficiency Boost in no time at all with this tank I think.

Dude, get WOT Statistics. It's the 'NUMBER 1' thing you can do to boost efficiency, because it shows you how you did in each match. I bet you didn't get more than 600 eff in the match you described above.
