Just got through... after 5 or 6 restarts. Give it another try, guys.

This is the fix:
Make sure WoT is not running in your process tree.
1. Go to your WoT replay folder.
2. Delete the file 'temp.wotreplay'
3. Open your cmd prompt
4. Type 'ipconfig/flushdns'
5. Login to WoT
You may need to try this a few times, repeating ALL steps in that order. I needed to try it 4 times before I got in. You will know when you get passed the 'Synchronizing Consumables' and it will say 'Synchronizing Store'.
Essentially WoT has a dns server out there that is acting up. You need to get a different dns address (the one that is not bad) to get in.
Credit SquelchOil with this fix. Thanks SquelchOil!!

this didnt work for me

Just the game. A kept bangin' on the door, and she finally opened.

I don't want to hear WG's problems. I'm a paying customer and I want to play. WG is seriously lacking in it seems any sort of professionalism.

Damn it all. Here we are again and yet another day I paid for and can't log in. I knew something was up when the log in's started getting slower and slower until now nothing at all.
And yet WG keeps crying wanting people to vote for them on this "golden joystick award"? Yeah right...great customer service guys and here I was thinking you guys might have started to get better.

This sounds like a authentications server issue.. not a DNS server.

10 to 1 they just need to shut down WoT, do a check, then reboot. This happens at my work every know and then, especially at year in closing. The just take the authentications server down for 10 min. REboot and we good.

Now the problem is.. is their tech support even working .. its the weekend.

I have the same problem, but for those who are realyl whining? come on... this isn't uncommon in other games either. They may be working hard to get this fixed. Let them work and stop sounding like they are robbing you blind. Remember, we dont spend money with them if we cant play. They know that even more than you do, so they know they need to fix it. Letting them know there is an issue is important, but sounding like a spoiled child doesnt really sell your case.

I understand systems go down, happens in every game.  I am a patient enough to wait, even though I also pay.  It's the silence from them.  Is it too much to ask for a post from them acknowledging  the problem? In the IT consulting world, we call it over communicating... or COA.

I have this great Idea  .... when the game is having server problems (like sychronizing consumables forever), maybe they could just ...oh I dunno POST IT ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE FRIKKEN WEB SITE!!
