Since improved graphics makes these v hard to see, I was wondering if someone would be willing to make a mod that increases the visibility of tracers in improved graphics settings.  I also wasn't sure how legal that is due to the old issues with permanent tracers.  Any thoughts?

Pretty sure it would be considered an "illegal mod"

Ya, that mod probably wouldnt be legal...also WG said they would be fixing this with next next update (at least i remember them mentioning it).  Tracers are still visible, just harder to see.  I personally like that they are not as apparent.  Makes counter arty a little more challenging.

Don't go there. Besides, that particular texture is used in several "effects". Instead, tone down the bloom so you can more easily see the existing tracer.

been done before...leading to tracers being removed.  look up the maxfarscale mod. it removes some of the haziness (bloom) and tracers are a bit easier to see like in normal render.

Tracers look like arcing (arc-ing) AP rounds now... they're white

I am still having this problem.  I will be looking at the tank's area in arty mode, hear the arty fire, and not see any tracer.  Especially bad when the ground is white with snow, etc, but a problem on every map.  Later, the arty will be spotted in the exact location that I was looking at before in arty mode, so I know the problem is that the tracer is not drawing.  It has also happened where the tracer is drawn and erased in the same screen refresh, practically.  I will glance to where the tracer appeared without moving the mouse/arty view window, only to see that the first half of the tracer has already disappeared and that it was not physically possible to tell where the tracer began.  We need a fix for this.

I concur. Since new grafx, counter-arty is pretty much a thing of the past. You can hear everything, you KNOW you're looking at them, but there is nothing to see.

I want to be able to hit the guy who doesn't shoot and scoot :) I vote for a return to the status quo of arty tracers.

Just play with the old graphics.  Look better anyway (imho)... less BLOOM on everything, non-blurry textures, no fog 5 feet in front of you, etc. (its like an old nintendo 64 game I swear), plus tracers you can see.

I've been trying this with the old graphics also, and the tracers still aren't great to find.
Plus, the rest of the game looks like crap...

I'm gonna switch back to new graphics and stick with hitting visible tanks instead.

Really sucks because I used to love doing CB.

the older graphics setting still has tracers
