Why dont the developers add japanese tanks? they were one of the major countries fighting in WW2. adding them would be great because people would have to see the "existed only in blueprints" message >.>
i sure would love to see some more tanks!
comments appreciated
keep up the good work!

Sincerely, Dallen

I too would love to see the Japanese tanks as well as some Pacific area themed maps, but I think the reason we don't see the Japanese tanks is the same that we don't see the Italian tanks.  Realistically, they only go up to Tier 4 (Tier 5 if you really stretch it) before there is a break in continuity, and those tiers aren't the good revenue streams for the game.  It's development that doesn't easily pay for itself.  However, Japan is interesting in that they pick up tank production again in 1955 with the Type 61, so they do have higher tier tanks, you just might have a hard time finding Tier 5-7 tanks for them and the later tier tanks are actually modern.  They have a really capable tier 12, but for example, their tier 8 tank is getting introduced right around the time everyone else is introducing Tier 11.

I have a feeling that the devs have pretty much decided to roll out a full chinese tech tree after the brits.  So we wont see the jap tree for a while.

I highly doubt the devs have enough material to make a Chinese tech tree, there is simply not enough Chinese tanks developed in the 40's and 50's. And the few that did exist were either soviet copies or lend-lease American tanks.

Here's a better question, do the japanese even have enough tanks to make a full tree?

Considering the fact japan didn't field too many of them during the war.  I could be wrong but i don't remember that many japanese tanks to begin with.

That is as an interesting idea but I would rather add Japanese tanks first because I don't much like the Italians or the Polish tanketts. I want this...

Every. Single. Japanese. Tank. Thread. is filled with people who have no idea what they are talking about.

Why else would they have a forum poll on a full chinese tech tree?  China is a huge market, hence the China tech tree.

Japanese tanks weren't widely used because -surprise- they were in the jungle. Tanks don't do well in the jungle, thus mostly infantry combat. Also, feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but Japanese tanks were inferior to similar tanks of the time.

They already have seperate chinese tanks FOR the seperate chinese server, the thread is about gauging the idea of bringing more of those tanks over to ours.  Although I don't know if they have a full tree or not, can anyone confirm?

Lol, there isn't enough Japanese tanks from a period of the 1930s to 1950s. Also Chinese tanks will probably come in after the british tech tree is finished because Wargaming.net are after more players to play on their servers. ANother thing is, most of the tanks (prototypes and even BS made up ones) are in periods from the 1930s and 1980s. World of Tanks isn't a WWII tank games guys. It's a WWII and Cold-War tank game.

In some of the previous videos, it's been said the Chinese would have a T-34-85 copy called the Type 58 and go up from there, but it's pretty limited in it's options

No, they didn't need many because their primary ground enemy was the Chinese, who had hardly anything to fight tanks with. Also even when they were fighting the allies they only fought on islands, in the first place it was hard to ship supplies to those places let alone tanks and in the second it was not exactly great tank country. Also I would consider your second point off, the Japanese just stopped doing much development after ~1938 into more tanks as they already had the Type 95 and Type 97 which were on par with many European tanks of the time and perfectly suitable for fighting infantry. When they did start developing and trying to put out more competitive tanks it was 1943 and the army had a very small share of the resources.
