This forum works in conjunction with, and does not replace, the Tank Lore subforum.

The purpose of this subforum is to allow people to ask and get a reply to specific questions on various vehicles or systems. I, for one, can't keep up with every thread to find the occasional request for information. The rules are as follows:

1) This is not a general discussion forum, or a forum for posting cool stuff about tanks. This is an information resource forum.
2) Anyone can create a thread, anyone can respond to a thread.
3) The subject line of your thread must be descriptive. "A question about Tiger II" is insufficient. "Tiger II's Lower Glacis" is acceptable. The reasons being that it allows people to easily check what questions have already been asked, and if they fail to find them, it also helps us find the earlier thread to avoid repetition.
4) Threads which don't follow rules 1 and 3 will be moved to Tank Lore.

As much as possible, if you're responding to a question, please distinguish between researched facts and conclusions, common consensus, and personal opinion. Similarly, please keep responses pretty much aligned with the question originally posed, keep tangents to a minimum. I will personally strive to answer quickly, but I value accuracy over speed. I have no idea what sort of deluge of questions is going to come or not, so if there is no immediate reply, don't panic.

Perhaps a dumb question, but questions about real tanks or tanks as they are in-game? Or both?

And thanks for this. Another +1 for The_Chieftain!!!

Does a riding lawn mower with a potato gun attached to it qualify as a tank?

If I wanted to post a topic about crew comfort in early-war tanks, would that be appropriate here? I'm talking things like how well-lit the interiors were, air temperature and ventilation, and noise.

Should I go to Tank Lore for this? Or am I in the right place?

so it needs some bullet-resistant car windows and some steel boilerplate taped/welded on?

and thanks for this forum section chief.
what are some good research sites i can look around on for tank-related stuff?

and i keep kicking around this idea of actually BUILDING some of the rarer WWI/II tanks- as in, stick to the original plans, deviating only when necessary (IE better engine and suspension for some of em)

might as well just put a few pieces of tin around the thing "extra armor" doesn't have to be necessarily good armor to be armor then u might have a tank sir. Does it have tracks or just plain tires? That may be a factor...
