For the next episode of Inside the Chieftain's Hatch, we're going to the M103. This is a big tank, so it's going to take a while to show it all off: This 15 minute video is the first of three we will be releasing showing this monster vehicle.
Edit: Adding Part 2.:
Another edit: Part 3.

Very nice! I especially like the historical background, it adds perspective to the rest of the video

Interesting timing, I have been reasearching the M103A1 for a buildup of the new OKB Grigorov 1/72 model kit. I took few snaps of the one outside the USMC training center in Syracuse, NY. It's in remarkably good shape. A decent kit of this cold warrior was a long time in coming, I just wish it was 1/35th scale.
Also managed to score a musty, dog eared copy of TM9-2350-206-12 DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY TECHNICAL MANUAL OPERATION AND ORGANIZATIONAL MAINTENANCE TANK,COMBAT,FULL TRACKED,120-MM GUN M103, which is chock full of those cool 40s and 50s photo renderings of how to change the oil and stuff.
Overall the M103 is unfairly maligned due to the teething troubles of the original model; the A1 with the M60 FCS and power plant was a potent weapons system.

I would like to suggest to put more shots in the video of the whole tank, zoomed out, and when going indepth into a certain area maybe zoom in. Eg., when you are talking about the track, first start off with a sideshot of the whole tank, and zoom in on the tracks/ tracks section, leading into the discussion of them
I love these video's, keep more coming

Salute to the MVTF for keeping the tank in such great condition. Interesting video, so far the tank doesn't sound as bad as its reputation.
80 mile range to 300?! How? Was the M60's engine more modern, was diesel more efficient, or what? That's a factor of 3!
Incidentally, is there a MVTF appreciation thread on these forums? Maybe there's a billionaire who plays WoT and could help save the collection...

Oh hey. I got a photo of one somewhere... Found it.
This one's in the Yakima, Washington area. Happened to have my camera at the time. (Oh, and I have had a hatred of chainlink fences since.)
