I simply ignored the phrase about instructions because they are already in the download, and an ordinary person would actually understand that first sentence...
If the user knows where the WoT-folder is and I say audio-folder in res to res_mods, then they better know that I'm talking about these folders in the WoT directory.

Engine Mod:
Extract the audio and scripts folders out of the mod and place it into your res_mod 0.8.X folder, it will ask to replace, accept. Remember you have to copy and paste your audio folder from your res folder and place it in your res_mod 0.8.4 folder, first. You do not need to copy the scripts folder from your res folder, only the audio one.
Gun Mod:
After you have installed the engine mod extract the audio and scripts folders out of the gun mod and place it into your res_mod 0.8.X folder.
Hope this is clear as mud

Yeeeah. That download link ain't 1.41, it's 1.31. Tricked me twice in as many weeks before I found the 1.41 one.

Engine Mod:

Next time just just take the VechicleAppearance.pyc file from the mod and place it in the res\scripts\client folder, it will ask to replace, accept. Then extract the audio and scripts folders out of the mod and place it into your res_mod 0.8.4 folder, it will ask to replace, accept. Remember you have to copy and paste your audio folder from your res folder and place it in your res_mod 0.8.4 folder, first. You do not need to copy the scripts folder from your res folder, only the audio one.

Gun Mod:

After you have installed the engine mod extract the audio and scripts folders out of the gun mod and place it into your res_mod 0.8.4 folder.

Hope this is clear as mud

Followed instructions exactly how you said but game failed to load on startup. Thankfully I was smart enough this time to create a backup of the the original vehicleappearance.pyc file so it should be pretty much impossible to completely ruin my game like last time
Here were my exact steps:
Engine mod:
vehicleappearance.pyc coped and pasted from mod into the World_of_Tanks\res\scripts\client folder. I overwrote the old file.
audio folder copied and pasted from World_of_Tanks\res into my World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.8.4 folder
both audio and script folders copied and pasted from mod into World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.8.4 folder. Overwrote old files.
Gun mod:
Both the audio and scripts folders from mod copied and pasted to my World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.8.4. Overwrote old files.
Edit 2: This time I did the exact same series of steps but this time I copied and pasted my audio and scripts folders from the engine mod to my World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.8.4 folder before copying and pasting the audio folder from my World_of_Tanks\res folder to my World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.8.4 folder. Same thing. Game won't launch. I am saddened.
Edit 3: The game is unable to load even if I use only the gun sound mod. I simply copy and paste my scripts and audio folders from the gun sound mod to World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.8.4 and the game will not launch. I tried this with and without copying the audio folder from World_of_Tanks\res into my World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.8.4 folder.
Edit 4: Tried the game with only the engine mod installed.
vehicleappearance.pyc coped and pasted from mod into the World_of_Tanks\res\scripts\client folder.
This works. Game loads and engine mod runs.
The issue seems to be with the gun sound mod for me.

As a note, I play on the EU client if this has any relevance whatsoever.

Edit: Found the 1.41 version of this mod: http://www.mediafire...89c2ah3tmatm695

The link in the OP is outdated. Both engine and gun sound mods now both work.

The reason I was kind of an asshole yesterday was because a russian kid that needed help for installation of the gun sounds who could not speak english at all, didn't know how to get WinRAR, didn't know how to copy folders, and neither did he know where the WoT folder was. YET, he asked how he could make his own engine sounds, and after hours of hours of hours trying my best to explain that he could not make his own sounds by just editing the name of my .fev and helping him installing FMOD Designer, and giving a FUCKING FULL INSTRUCTION ON BOTH ENGINE AND GUN SOUND MODDING THAT I HAD TO TRANSLATE INTO RUSSIAN by getting help by an Ukrainian friend HE SUDDENLY WENT APE SHIT AND STARTED CRYING ABOUT ME BEING THE WORST PERSON EVER TO HELP HIM WITH COMPUTER SHIT.

He started spamming my inbox with insulting childish messages and even told me that I was going to get reported.

I took my freetime...and gave my best instructions and russian translation yet...over getting prepared to a test for today...JUST TO END UP GETTING A SQUEAKY MOTHERFUCKER TO RUIN MY DAY!!!!!!!!!

So...sorry.

I installed the latest version, get into game & then I hear that left speaker rattle sound. I wasn't getting this before I installed it and I am not getting it after I removed it.
Any ideas?

That's not a fix. Games are crap without surround.

Yes, it's the only fix, I am sorry.

I could fix this issue if I could understand Python, but I don't, so no.

Isn't it also due to the wonderful BigWorld engine?

Nope, BigWorld is mostly for rendering.

Did we ever find out if the whistling sound we now hear (instead of the old "freight train") when arty goes over, is part of this mod or something WOT did? I miss my old "freight train" sound. Thanks GF!

Just a little note, WOT has made it so that if you edit the "Scripts" file the game crashes took me 4hrs to find that one out. :P so dont know whats going on there. I tried adding your "guns, xml" to the item_defs without replacing the folder but to no avil. <3 this mod.

Found the fix.

you can please some people some of the time, but usually nobody's happy. Do what you want to do because it's your project.
