Original post updated with info on sound naming and order, and a naming and order list for music.fsb added.

Cheers

I was trying to edit the voice files but when I try it in game none of the audio commands work. I've listened to more or less all the files to make sure my order was right and so far the only discrepancies I've found were the crt sound and reload sound were 4th and 5th respectively. Any idea why my audio won't work?

Not sure... Any chance you could upload the file somewhere so I could have a look at it?

As a test I just extracted and then repackaged the sounds in the correct order. Here's a link: http://www.mediafire...0id51lrhbhhtnz1

I also noticed that while building the fsb that the numbering is correct but it's out of order.

I tested it and got the same results as you, no playback. Will do further testing tomorrow to see if I can figure it out.

Edit: I've tested it further, and I'm afraid I'm at loss of a solution. I can't get the files that are in your FSB to play in WoT. Sorry, hope you work it out.

Alright thanks for the help. Let me know if you figure out voices later.

You're welcome. One thing though: Seeing as I couldn't get your converted files to work here, the cause might have been the actual conversion. You might want to try experimenting with using different audio formats when you're building your new bank in FMOD, for instance regular PCM instead of ADPCM. I have fooled around with the ingame_voice.fsb before and haven't noticed any playback problem when I rebuilt it. Haven't tested it with the latest version 0.6.2.7 though (and can't at the moment since the server is down for the next update). But it might be worth a try. WoT have no problem playing back uncompressed PCM audio - I once used a music mod that was 1.2 GB without any problem on a regular Dual Core 2 - so unless your system is low end there is no need to use ADPCM. In fact for the voices it might be preferable, as they are of such low audio quality, and recompressing them with ADPCM will make it even worse, as you may have noticed (like making an MP3 out of an MP3).

Another thing you could try is to extract them from the original FSB by using MusicPlayerEX instead of fsbext (by selecting all files in the playlist of MusicPlayerEX, right-clicking and choosing "Convert"). You will not get the proper naming by doing so, only generic naming, but the files will be in the correct order right away and in regular uncompressed PCM instead of ADPCM. Although MusicPlayerEX does convert the sounds instead of just extracting them like fsbext does, converting to PCM gives no quality loss.

I'm unable to play any of your sounds, including the ones in the FSB. It seems they contain an invalid track, resulting in garbled playback, so something has gone wrong either when you extracted them or built the new bank. Also, in the FSB they are in the wrong order. They need to be in the same order as in the original FSB or the wrong sounds will be played at the sound events in game. Hope that helps.

I've put FSBextract on my own FTP instead, here http://www.evangelyn.../wot/FSBExt.rar
Thanks for making me aware of the broken link.

Happy new year everyone!  :Smile_harp:

I'd like to hear Sean Connery's terrible sub captain accent for the Russian tanks

"Ryan, Schum thinGs don't react well to bullets in here..."

Seriously though thank you for putting up this info!  I've been waiting to change the wimpy 88mm sound, with this...
Attached File   88mmKwk36-Tiger).WAV   166.54K

Then again this would be ideal too for responses:
Attached File   00031004.wav   101.63K
Attached File   00031813.wav   124.57K

Hey awesome video!  Though did they actually use full charge?  I'm thinking probably not since 88mm replacement barrels are not easy to come by.

You might want to try converting your files to WAV before building the FSB in FMOD. It seems FMOD is not very fond of MP3's, although they do sometimes work.

Do you mean if it still works? Yes, the game engine can play both WAV and MP3 and the new audio files does not have to be in the same format as the original files, they will still work.
