There really needs to be a shifty face smiley.

Many thanks for a great competition, there were enough questions for all abilities and all abilities to research. It was pitched at just the right level to learn more than we knew and thanks for the cricket reference, a Brit playing in the NA timezone had an unfair advantage on that one!

I tuned out kind of early, so I missed this:

As others have pointed out, his name was Ettore Bastico, not Estore Battico, haha. He was known to some of the German officers, Rommel in particular, as "Bombastico" due to his "difficult, autocratic and violent" attitude. Anyway, I hope nobody who answered with the correct spelling was disqualified due to this error.

Also, for future contests I think it'd be great if the sources for the answers would be identified in these post-contest award posts. Some of them are quite interesting yet so obscure that I can't find much, if any, information on the question.

Again, thanks for the contest, I look forward to the next one!

The spelling of the name wasn't a factor in winning. Especially if it was us that messed up the spelling. I blame the chieftain
