Alright ladies and gents we all know that tanks werent the only thing in land battles. Infantry were a big a part of it too, capturing buildings, bridges, and other key points. Infantry would be a totally new thing for the game and if done wrong would be a really terrible addition to the game. So here is my proposal:

a seperate battle mode= 30 vs 30: 15 tanks and 15 infantry users on each team
standard battle will remain as is

infantry users would be relatively weak against a tank head to head but infantry would be allowed to go inside most buildings(excluding infantry with bigger guns or vehicles) and climb hills that tanks could not even do with the new physics. Infantry aren't meant to fight other infantry(primarily for this game) but to fight as support for tanks

infantry would be in 3rd person shooter format with a sniper mode like the tanks. Players would be single infantrymen(not squads or that would be overly complicated) of different classes:
Anti-Personnel
or Anti-Tank
or  Mounted

A potential example of a German infantry line:
tier one: Volksgrenadiers armed a mauser kar 98k
tier II Anti Personnel: Walther Gewehr 41
tier II anti-tank: Panzerbuchse 38(early anti-tank rifle)
tier II mounted: zundapp motorcycle (not sure what to arm this with)
tier III: mp18
tier III  Panzerbuchse 39(anti-tank rifle)
tier III: kettenkrad motorcycle/tracked
tier IV: fg42
tier IV: Panzerfaust 30
tier IV: SDKfz 231
tier V: mp38:
tier V: Panzerfaust 60
tier V: SDkFz 234
tier VI: mp40
tier VI: Panzerschreck
tier VI: Sdkfz 222
tier VII: mp44
tier VII: Pak 36 anti tank gun
tier VII:SDkfz 250/10 (half track) with pak 35
tier VIII: mp45
tier VIII: pak 38 anti-tank gun
tier VIII: sdkfz 251/1 flamethrower or rocketlauncher
tier XI: mg42
tier XI: pak 40 anti-tank gun
tier XI: Wurfgranate 41 Nebelwerfer
tier X: Flakpanzer IV Wirblewind
tier X: pak 80 anti-tank gun
tier X: Wurfkorper M F1 50 with machine gun

All tanks machine guns enabled. All infantry able to capture flag.

Note: all of the above examples are WW2 based. If changes to more advanced weaponry from cold war wants to be used, so be it. Also it is a potential list of main weapons, grenades flamethrowers and other things may be put into the mix. Historically it might not be how it looks in the list but I am not a historian.

Problem: Unlesws you made something l ike Age of Empires: GUys dying with no blood, Infantry is a big no- no because WG wants to mantain T rating

I would like infantry to be part of the background, such as building to building fighting, and you can run them over. Just AI for looks.

Has anyone here ever played a "T for Teen" shooter?

I mean, look at the Mercenaries games for crying out loud. You can run people over with tanks in those games, send them sky high with an HE round or blast them out of existence with a direct tank shell to the face.

No blood in those games(though the sequel, World in Flames, added ragdoll physics), but you fought infantry with vehicles in those games.

Not just that. I'd also give guns all the way down to 20mm HE rounds to make them more effective on infantry. Because let's face it: Even firing a burst of rounds, it's still highly unlikely you'll hit a guy on foot with a 20mm gun.

Like Spanisharmada said, WG will never put infantry in as long as they want to maintain the "T" rating. Adding infantry would change the game from killing tanks to killing people, and that would change the rating to "M".

WG doesn't want to lose all of the little kiddies using their daddy's credit card. :lol:

WG has said no infantry, ever.  At least for the forseeable future.  So you're out of luck.

negative rep rate discourages stupid ideas but may also discourage legitimate ideas that are not popular. Doesnt mean that this was legit.

not player controlled. WG has talked about adding in gun emplacements like AT guns and bunkers and stuff, so maybe some infantry can count for that too, but I think all of that should be with some simple AI. Although, the thing about keeping their T rating will trump anything.

As for infantry, it's a topic that is just a  non-starter:

1) A single infantryman would simply not be as fun to play as a tank.  Adding them as NPCs would detract from the PvP focus of the game.
2) Infantry would require complex animations that would be expensive to produce.
3) Infantry would have to use a different engine than the one used by vehicles.
4) Probably most importantly, adding infantry to the game would almost certainly force them to change the rating on the game.
5) Currently, the anti-personnel weapons on all the tanks are disabled and there is no way to control them.
6) Adding infantry would almost certainly force the controls of the game to become more complex, making the game less approachable (and probably reducing the prospect of playing it on a console).
7) Infantry interact with the world on an entirely different scale than tanks. This would probably force vast changes in the maps, textures, graphics, etc.

On some level, I wouldn't mind various infanty squads (forward observer, AT, flamethrower, light mortar, MG nest, engineers, etc.) to be 'consumables' that you could place on the map at the start of a game somewhere within 300m of your starting position if you were in a command tank.  It would then be controlled by an AI in your client.  But that is probably more trouble than its worth in terms of the programming effort and changes in the games rating.

i would like for all the tanks auxerially guns to work (at least for killing crew members by spamming tank)
