Anyone else use the what was expected to be a dinky 76mm howitzer and come to find out it actually fires like a howitzer? It blew my mind first time firing it. I pull nad from looking at the tracer I think "Wow, this gun has horrid accuracy!" only to then find out almost a full second later the shell landed ON TOP of the target, doing massive damage! Is this a glitch, or will it be kept? I hope it will be kept, as this would be a good mechanic to put into the Petarded Churchill AVRE.

I find the same thing with the 3.7inch (94mm)... So much fun, especially in a tier 3

I'm using the 3.7-inch Howitzer on the A10 and I think it works the same way. Very slow reload, bad aim time and shells takes like 1 or 2 seconds to reach the target.

370 damages at tier 3 is overkill but so fun !

The 3in is horrendous to use, but yes, I was very surprised that it actually performed like a howi. I expect there to be interesting and effective ways people can take advantage of this, but I can't be bothered to do so.

Its great for a stationary target but leading a moving target across a field is impossible.  The hang time reminds me of an NFL kick-off.

Firing on moving targets is an Olympian challenge, but I like to use it to kill arty, TDs, and slow moving british T4s

I wonder if this new mechanic is because of physics? Will the M5's howitzer get the same setup?

I love this 3-inch gun on my A13.  It works sometimes too.  :Smile_veryhappy:   I was just on Siegfried line and engage an E8 across the dragon teeth.  Had I been using the 40mm the rounds almost certainly would have hit the tanks traps that were about half way between us.  Instead the round arced well over the tanks traps hammering the E8.  I would have killed him with a second shot (he was already damaged before I hit him) but an M36 hit him just after I did.

I like to use the 3-inch gun to lay down suppression fire.  During an encounter mode Muravanka I chased a sniper off the hills overlooking the cap by just constantly shelling his position.  I only hit him once, but after about 12 shells he decided to just run away.  You can also lock down a street in city maps and buy time for your longer loading teammates using this tactic.
