Instead of making an account on curse.com to send a message to it's author, I am posting here.
XVM will not & does not work on Windows 8 due to the fact that the Dokan library does not work on Windows 8. So for those of you that want to try Win8 and use xvm, stick with Win7.

So, with this in mind, if he wants to continue updating XVM well into the future, he will need to find a new way for it to work but without needing Dokan.
Unless, of course, the author of Dokan updates it.

Windows 8, what a joke.  Usability for actual work is just horrible.  It's new so there are a lot of things that may not work for a while.

I installed Doken on Win 8 by setting it to Win 7 compatibility.  XVM Stats works great.

Ya, I shoulda thought about running it in compatibility mode.

Working just fine here. Install Dokan in windows 7 compatibility mode. Simple.

its only a little different the search feature in charms is great.

i find everything works on my end.

Changing compatability to win 7 did the trick for me it all works now.  Thanks

dokan installed fine
