I am back in the Washington DC area next week, so we'll have another gathering, shall we?

Time: Saturday, 17NOV . 1900
Place: Up to you guys. The last time we held one in DC, we went to a place on the Maryland side of the city, so we'll go to the Virginia side of things this time, shall we? Preferably to the SW side, closer to Dulles than Reagan.

So as per tradition, here's what we'll do.

If you're planning on showing up, state on this thread, clearly and specifically, that you intend to show up. That way we will have a rough headcount and know how many people we're trying to accommodate.

If you have a suggestion or recommendation as to a place where we can gather, please also place it on this thread. Rules:
1) No unGodly loud music playing. We want to be able to hear each other.
2) Let's avoid places that cost $15 for a beer.
3) Should be under-21 friendly.

In about a week's time, we'll revisit this thread and come to a consensus as to the location.

Definitetly will be there.   Ive got some good relatively inexpensive recommendations if you want to actually go into the city, as theres a couple really good bars over in barracks row on 8th street that are low key.

Otherwise i'll head with the crowd

I won't make it to this one, but I did get to meet The_Chieftain last February when he came to College Park, MD. And it was a great time. Highly suggest going if at all possible. He tells some great stories, about WG's history, their current strategies (including WOT, WOWP and maybe he'll get into WOWS), and eagerly answered a lot of our questions. He is just a really great liaison for the company to the community.

Will be visiting Ashburn, VA from the 15th to the 26th.  Would like to attend as long as I can find my way to wherever the gathering is and there is parking.

Ah in my neck of the woods! Defiantly gonna have to try and make this one! As far as location idea's, ahh, gonna have to ponder on that one for a bit, I'll edit the post and see what other peoples suggestions are!

Camelot gets my vote for a meeting place in DC.

I can be there and I was at the last one.  A great time and very fun to listen to what our Chief has to say.  Also the last thread had about 15 responses and 40~ish people showed up.

My two pennies tossed in.

Not knowing the attendance from last year limits choices.... I suggest a banquet hall (Golden Corral) near (or in) one of the Metro station Malls or via a short Metrobus transfer.  This venue could make it pleasant for all attendees, maybe allow bigger attendance with the younger folks.  Additionally, I am a 20 year Vet as a Naval Combat Aircrewman with poor hearing and a quiet hall would allow everyone to hear and be less distractive.

I'm interested in attending. A couple of hours away from DC and not from the east coast anyhow, so I don't have any recomendations but if time allows, definately showing up.

why not take your event to Shirlington, VA. It's close to Metro and has many places to sit and have a good time. Open air and enclosed are offered. Grew up in the DC area and wish I could attend, but live in Tampa, FL now.

I'll RSVP once there is a solid suggestion of location. The Udvar Hazy Air and Space Museum is about the only thing I know near the Dulles side of things.

Somewhat related, how about Fort Lee Va. as a future community gathering. It is the new home of the US Army Ordnance Museum.
