My son is 14 so stick with that venue. I need a location because I am coming from Northern Maryland.

Uh, I'll toss a suggestion then.

Brion's Grille, just across from GMU. Not sure about getting a section off to ourselves at short notice.

Bonefish Grill

Bonefish Grill is a bit pricey and if a *lot* of kids come along there might be a noise issue that the restaurant might not appreciate.

Parking certainly won't be a huge issue at Brion's, but it wouldn't be an issue at Greene Turtle, either.

Given that he hasn't responded since the OP, I'm wondering if Chieftain's even still monitoring the thread. vOv

It's Tuesday, we are meeting Saturday, should probably settle on a place soon.

I recommend the National Museum of the Marine Corps by Quantico. The museum has a large sitting area in the cafeteria, boasts a pub next door to that, has classrooms should someone coordinate for them, and has, arguably, the best museum in the National Capital Region.

OK, that's 52 names. Not an insignificant number, even if we assume that a third don't actually show up, dropping us to about 35.. We'll start calling around some of the suggestions, see who can take us.

Going alone, boss is scheduled to work the overnight and my other friend had just left to visit family and won't be back until the 1st. I will still be offering Greasel_burger a ride from the Vienna Metro station, and once the location is finallized, I'll take my day off and scout the location and see if there is any issues in terms of parking and whatnot.

Brion's Grill is an excellent choice. I know they just hosted a democratic party- thing after the election- I saw they have a back room that can seat probably upwards of 75, they also have a bar, and I believe are under 21 friendly. I'm still curious if this is going to impede the tournament though...

If that's the case, then it is a better choice over Bungalow, because the space I was in didn't look like it could reasonably accommodate over 30 people.  Brion's, though "deep" in Fairfax is also pretty easily locatable as well, since if you can get onto Fairfax County Parkway, Braddock Road, or Route 123 there's no way you can get lost.

I am back in the Washington DC area next week, so we'll have another gathering, shall we?

Time: Saturday, 17NOV . 1900
Place: Up to you guys. The last time we held one in DC, we went to a place on the Maryland side of the city, so we'll go to the Virginia side of things this time, shall we? Preferably to the SW side, closer to Dulles than Reagan.

So as per tradition, here's what we'll do.

If you're planning on showing up, state on this thread, clearly and specifically, that you intend to show up. That way we will have a rough headcount and know how many people we're trying to accommodate.

If you have a suggestion or recommendation as to a place where we can gather, please also place it on this thread. Rules:
1) No unGodly loud music playing. We want to be able to hear each other.
2) Let's avoid places that cost $15 for a beer.
3) Should be under-21 friendly.

In about a week's time, we'll revisit this thread and come to a consensus as to the location.

See you there.
all i need is a time and place in d.c and me and kommandder_kibbles well be here
