Many players can have trouble with earning credits in World of Tanks, especially if they are on standard account and do not have a premium tank. One possible solution? Play a lower tier tank to generate some credits and help finance your high tier tank purchases!

Any of the following tanks are excellent profit makers. Just make sure to have them fully upgraded, outfitted and with a skilled crew, so that they can reach their true potential and earn you more credits in the process!

Here are the top 10 highest earning tanks (average credits profit per game), as compiled from 209K random public battles on the v8.0 live servers. The earnings are normalized (no premium account or special events are included). Data obtained from WoT Performance Analyzer. Additional thread Tank Profitability.

The winner will certainly surprise a lot of people!

Number 10
T-150 8,679 http://wiki.worldoft...2px-Credits.png
http://wiki.worldoft...SSR-T150.pngThe T-150 is a Soviet tier 6 heavy tank.
The T-150 was a further development of the KV-1. The vehicle weighed as much as 50 tons. The T-150 underwent trials in the first half of 1941. A prototype fought in the battles for Leningrad, and became a basis for a modification of the KV-1 with reinforced armor.

Despite its name, the T-150 is an upgraded KV-1. It has the same chassis and turret, with some notable improvements. Additional armor has been added to the hull, a considerably more powerful engine is available, and perhaps most importantly, it can mount the 107 mm ZiS-6 gun. The tank can in fact be frustrating at first, but stick with it, and the improvement of the tank will be extremely noticeable.
The T-150 leads to the KV-3.

Number 9
StuG III 8,690 http://wiki.worldoft...2px-Credits.png
http://wiki.worldoft...-StuGIII.pngThe StuG III is a German tier 5 tank destroyer.
Originally designed as an assault vehicle, this self-propelled gun was converted into a tank destroyer beginning with the F series. A total of 9,265 vehicles of this series and 1,211 of the StuH 42 were produced.

It is exeptionally manuverable, being based on the PzKpfw III chassis, and can reach its top speed very quickly. While its stock cannon is powerful against equally-tiered opponents, it is rendered useless against anything past tier 6. However, once upgraded with the 7.5 cm StuK 42 L/70, the StuG III can deal significant damage to higher-tier vehicles. It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking you're a medium tank with the StuG III's rapid acceleration and high maneuverability, but you will soon learn that you can not take hits like a medium tank. In fact, the StuG can easily die even to tier 3 opponents if they find a way to attack its sides.

Number 8
SU-8 8,787 http://wiki.worldoft...2px-Credits.png
http://wiki.worldoft...SSR-SU-8.pngThe SU-8 is a Soviet tier 5 self-propelled gun.
A "Medium Triplex" self-propelled gun. Development started in 1934, but was soon suspended. After a pause, development resumed in 1939, but the vehicle never entered mass production.

With this artillery, you can almost fire all the way across the map. Like most Soviet artillery, the SU-8 fires at a high arc, so it can hit tanks behind cover more effectively than its counterpart, the Hummel. It can also hide close in cover and be somewhat immune to counter-battery fire from low arcing shots. It is harder to hit moving targets with the SU-8 due to the significantly slow shell travel time. The weapons available require more time to aim than those on earlier Soviet artillery. It does get the 152mm howitzer, which packs a punch that the earlier Soviet artillery lacked.

Number 7
Pz III/IV 8,838 http://wiki.worldoft...2px-Credits.png
http://wiki.worldoft...PzIII_IV.pngThe PzKpfw III/IV is a German tier 5 medium tank.
The tank was intended to use parts and components of the PzKpfw III and PzKpfw IV vehicles. Only blueprints were developed.

Fast, agile and properly armored - PzKpfw III/IV can stand it's ground really well unless you happen to be bottom of the food chain. While you do have sub-average gun in regards to damage, most inexperienced players will bounce their shots of your front, while you will pick at them with your very accurate 75 mm gun from the position you've taken before anyone else could get a look at you. It is remarkable vehicle and in proper hands can win tier 5 battles almost single handed.

Number 6
T49 8,933 http://wiki.worldoft...2px-Credits.png
http://wiki.worldoft.../USA-T49.pngThe T49 is an American tier 5 tank destroyer.
Development started in the spring of 1942. After undergoing trials, the decision was made to replace the 57 mm gun with a 75 mm gun. The new design passed trials in the fall of 1942 but never saw service.

The T49 is considered a very fun and overall good tank to play. Its best features are its guns, particularly the 76mm M1A1 along with its superior speed and acceleration. Stock, it is very weak and has low engine power, but once fully upgraded, it is a force to be reckoned with. It can maintain its 61 kph top speed quite easily over all terrain, and though the turret traverse is incredibly slow the tank excels at flanking and exposing weak sides and rear. Its gun can penetrate almost any armor it comes across when hitting weak spots and by the time they've been hit you'll most likely be long gone, and in higher tiers it can even be used as a heavily armed scout. Like most turreted TDs its armor is sloped but incredibly thin, so don't expect to bounce hardly anything. In fact if you try to use the classic stationary Tank Destroyer sniper, you'll probably be destroyed without mercy. However, you most likely won't be hit if you use this tank's superior speed and maneuverability to its best.

Number 5
T-34 8,961 http://wiki.worldoft...2px-Credits.png
http://wiki.worldoft...SSR-T-34.pngThe T-34 is a Soviet tier 5 medium tank.
The legend of the Soviet armored forces and the most widely-produced Soviet tank of World War II, with a total of 33,805 vehicles manufactured. Three variants of this model were produced at several Soviet factories from 1940 through 1944.

A legendary tank in WWII and the spiritual forefather of almost every modern MBT, the T-34's mythical stellar reputation, as opposed to actual historical performance [1], leads some to believe that it will be a kind of "wonder tank" in-game, which is not the case as its success relied on the numbers it was made in. The strengths of the T-34, as in real life, are its versatility and lack of any glaring flaws. When driving a T-34, you will frequently encounter faster, tougher, or harder-hitting tanks, but the secret to success is that they will almost always be inferior to you in some other way. By being flexible and knowing your opponent, you can tailor your tactics to your advantage. Use your speed to outflank lumbering heavies, outgun lighter and faster opposition, and trust your sloped armor to protect against all, but the big hitters. If the T-34 does have a drawback, it is that the 76 mm F-34 is eventually outmatched by the higher-tier armor. However when equipped with the 57 mm ZiS-4 it turns into a machine of destruction and cannot be overlooked, capable of crippling many tanks with its very high rate of fire and penetration.

Number 4
KV-1   9,783 http://wiki.worldoft...2px-Credits.png
http://wiki.worldoft...USSR-KV1.pngThe KV-1 is a Soviet tier 5 heavy tank.
Development was started at the end of 1938. A prototype was produced in August 1939. First saw action in December 1939 at the Mannerheim Line. The vehicle was mass-produced from March 1940 through August 1942, with a total of 2769 manufactured.

Most people will find the KV-1's playing style different from what they are used to, having just come out of the T-28 medium tank. At stock, armed with the adequate 76 mm ZiS-5, it is very slow, and certainly not agile. Consider mounting the 57 mm 413 if you enjoy a fast fire rate with decent penetration. The KV-1 with the 122 mm U-11 gun firing HE shells can be a surprisingly fun tank to play, but don't expect to be doing much when you get thrown in with the big boys battles. This tank used to be with the KV-2 in the removed KV tank.

Number 3
M10   9,953 http://wiki.worldoft...2px-Credits.png
http://wiki.worldoft...olverine.pngThe M10 Wolverine is an American tier 5 tank destroyer.
The most widely-produced American tank destroyer, with a total of 6,706 vehicles, in two basic variants, manufactured from September 1942 through January 1944. More than a third of all Wolverines were supplied to allied nations under Lend-Lease.

The M10 Wolverine is poorly armored, but it more than compensates for this with a great gun, good maneuverability and speed, and a turret. Though there is a turret, it does not turn very fast. This TD cannot be played as a tank as it is wholly inadequate for this role. At the same time, the tank's size is too great to remain camouflaged well, even in dense undergrowth.

Number 2
T1 Heavy 10,115 http://wiki.worldoft...2px-Credits.png
http://wiki.worldoft...A-T1_hvy.pngThe T1 Heavy is an American tier 5 heavy tank.
Development of the tank started in the spring of 1940. In September 1940 and December 1941, prototypes underwent trials. The tank was never mass-produced. Later, it became a prototype for the M6.

Compared to its Soviet counterpart, the KV-1, it is considered the least-powerful heavy tank for its tier, with thin armor and a small caliber 75mm gun. However, the upgraded M1A1 cannon sports great penetration and rate of fire, taking the T1 Heavy's firepower up to par with the KV-1. In addition, the T1 has a very powerful engine available as an upgrade, making the T1 a far more mobile tank than its Soviet counterpart. It sports good frontal armor and fantastic turret armor but paper thin side and rear plating, so keep your flanks hidden and expose only your front armor and turret. The large dimensions of the tank includes a large side silhouette, so always show your frontal armor to the enemy to minimize the damage taken. Keep in mind that the T1 is best played as a medium tank with the speed of a heavy tank, and not a real heavy like the KV-1.

Finally, the tank that has the highest profit potential of them all is...

Number 1
BDR G1B
10,419 http://wiki.worldoft...2px-Credits.png
http://wiki.worldoft...nce-BDR_G1B.pngThe BDR G1B is a French tier 5 heavy tank.
The project of a new vehicle was suggested by engineers of the Baudet-Donon-Rousell company in June 1938. However, the design was never developed.

This tank has poor armor and speed. However, when placed on the top of the list, it can easily destroy lower tier tanks with its 75mm gun, which separates it from the B1. The 90 mm gun, especially, can rip up tanks easily. Just remember to keep clear of higher tier tanks.

Hopefully, some of you will find this list useful!

I'm not sure if I would agree with this list, I think it all depends on the player.

I've made a lot more money in my AMX 13 75 than I have in a lot of my tier 5 and 6 tanks...

This is not an opinion based list, but one where data from 209,000 random public games was gathered. It was provided by Phalynx, author of the WoT Performance Analyzer.

What do you mean you don't agree with this list? It is a compilation of facts/stats from the server. You don't believe the server stats are accurate?

Each person plays tanks differently so each will have a different list that works for them. 2 of my top non-premium earners are the KV1S and T29. I also make good credits with my BatChat 25t, go figure lol.

I'm saying this list wouldn't necessarily apply to every player, like Fodder4U said, each person plays tanks differently so each player has a list that works best for them.

For example, my list of best money makers at the moment would be fast flankers, specifically the french autoloader tanks. Not to mention the Panther with its amazing sniping capabilities.

The list is an objective list based on data analysis.  There will definitely be player to player variability, but this is is also normalized data.  The AMX 13 75 was receiving a credit boost last weekend, which may be skewing your impression of the profitability of it (not sure how long you've been playing it).  This data also ignores the premium credit boost which is a major impact in profitability.

If the BDR G1B typically earns 15,000 credits and costs 5,000 to repair/resupply then the profitability is normally 10,000.  If you add in premium this increases the profitability to 17,500 credits.

If the T29 typically earns 38,000 credits but costs 30,000 to repair/resupply then profitability is normally 8,000.  If you add in premium however this becomes much more profitable netting 27,000 credits per game.

The Potato is number one. I'm surprised. I guess it's the 90mm gun at one of the most profitable tiers. Unfortunately they seem rather unremarkable from experiences fighting them.

It doesn't apply to every player.  Not every player plays the same tank the same way.  Pick any one of the tanks off this list and each individual will list that he/she can do better than the average on some while falling below the average on others.

That is one of the nice things about this game.  It is not a cookie cutter game for each country, they all have strenghts and weaknesses.  So if you end up with the T1 HT and you play it extremely well, but the BD gives you fits, you can stick with the T1 and enjoy it.

What this information does lend to people however is a good basis of what tanks to shoot for if they are credit poor and are learning a new tank.  This will give them an idea of what to expect monetary wise if they learn the tank well and play around the average.

Why is the BDR a surprise?  Look at the gun on it at t5 it does more damsge per shot with a low credit cost.  Same with T150 with 107 and old T5 KV.  If the T150 was a tier 5, then IT, like the old KV, would be the undisputed best earner.  (The fact it is tier 6 and still on the list is a testament to that)

Thank you OP as I would not have ever really looked and seen that certain middle tier tanks really earn so much on average. I wonder where my favorites rank hrmmm ....  :Smile_Default:
