Are there any plans to make the IS-7 worthwile again? Any Developer commenting on this, please?
I mean, right now I'd rather go in an MS-1 into a tier 10 battle. At least I could scout, and it's cheap.

Since 8.1, this tank has become a pile of bull crap. APCR and HEAT rounds (before you rage, yes, I'm ok with gold rounds for silver), are not "flying all over there", but enemies will fire them upon an IS-7 for sure, especially frontally. I was penned at 200 meters by a Tiger II... angled (1). And artillery shells are deadlier than ever.

Also... I was told that the IS-7 was "Le fast tier X tank". BS. Traverse speed in practice seems to be as slow as KV-3's. So yeah, going downhill you reach... what, 45, 50 km/h? -OMG THAT'S OP!!! NERF IT!!!!.... no. I'ts just not enough to nullify this tank's cons (2). The T110E5 is more maneuverable, while having similar frontal armor (except for the tumor), and an accurate, fast, powerful gun.

Some changes I could imagine, without making the IS-7 OP (but that can bring that tier X back on pair to other tier X tanks) (3):

1) Raise traverse speed from 28 to 30 degrees;
2) Lower aiming time from 3.4 (yes, 3.4!! the new british tier X has 1.7!!!) to 3;
3) Raise RoF from 4.38 to 4.7;
4) Add 150 more hp to the tank;
5) Pizza.

Right now the IS-7 is a beta tank, stuck in 8.1 environment. Fail.

Thanks.

PS: German fanboys are not welcome here, and will be trolled to death.

-Edit:
(1) Just a bit angled, and the guy penetrated my lower hull, which is not always easily concealable.
(2) No, I'm not "doing it wrong" with the IS-7, I have 61% WR and average stats.
(3) I don't give a damn piece of bull crap if the tank is good for CW or not. I want it to be as enjoyable as any other tier X, because it ain't cheaper or easier to research than any other. It requires lots of time (or money) and effort to get. It's a tier 10, dammit!

As an IS-7 driver myself, all it truly needs is less ground resistance so it can actually get past 30 km/h on a flat field. :l
A little more health would be nice as well and traverse never hurts.

But yes, as it is, it's an entirely worthless tank and pretty much every other heavy but the Maus outclasses it. :l

That I Can only agree with if you add more damage to the gun.

i must say the IS7 is pretty lackluster now, with the way the metagame has shifted. It's still very viable in CW and definately not a "bad tank", but it definately lost its crown as king of pubs.

The IS-4 is not better at all.

Looks like the "older" trees are now abandoned... Want a great tank? Pay gold to grind the new lines!

Don't angle your IS-7.

It was never good for CW to begin with.

IS-4 serves more purposes than the IS-7.
At least IS-4 has fairly useful all around armor and a much much better gun.
Just about as fast too.

And is actually clan wars viable.

It's not just the IS7, everything can be penned pretty easily via premium rounds. I don't play my Tier 10's much anymore. What's the point? You are pretty much guaranteed 5 arty per side. As of late it seems every Tier X battle goes:
  • Find a place to hide
  • Hopefully track and/or not a Zero Pen hit on that T-50-2 with your Tier X gun
  • Wait for the enemy to get inpatient
  • Pick up arties left overs and/or get beat to $hit by enemies arty

Just not very fun now a days.

I'm quite good with my IS-7 and I find it a pile of garbage.
Skill isn't quite everything when even people who use it effectively think it's awful.

This.

This is the main issue. Old lines are neglected, because WG assumes that most players already have/had one. IS-7 was very popular back in the days, so was the Maus. Then, why make them still good? Instead, they throw to the battlefield new tier X tanks, so you have to pay gold to get them ASAP, because the older ones are now "meh".

Bad company behaviour is bad.

Not sure if trolling, but just to be sure. It's not just him:
http://forum.worldof...-underwhelming/

This has been the sadest week of my WoT life finding out that the tank I'm grinding up to is now crap.

Don't angle the IS-7's armor, it's better to be face on well hiding the under-plate

So everytime someone complains about some game feature, it's because he is having problems with it? That speaks a lot about you, sir.

I have 61% WR, 50% survival with it. It's just not fun, and not adequate for tier X battles (not even pubs) since 8.1

IS-7 is horrible for cw but a great pub tank. It's all about knowing how to angle (very different from conventional E5/regular heavy angling). At the end of the day you're an armor heavy. If you don't know how to use your armor to bounce most shells you will have a bad time.

Slightly angled, that's what I meant. And it penned my lower hull, which is better to show a bit angled. And you can not always hide your lower hull, you know.

Thanks for the advice, though.

At least you have more DPM and pen than the Maus.

I always thought the IS-7 felt a little dated.

Hopefully the FV215b is good... that's my next heavy I'm grinding to...
