Hi Guys,

Which gun do you prefer for Russian Medium Tank T-54: 100 mm D-54 or 100 mm D-10T2C?

Let me know.

d-54 for me

the higher the pen the better, more assurance when facing countless IS7/IS4/E75 etc.

D10T2C if you have the money for a few gold shells, otherwise 200 pen is more than enought for the sides of most tanks. I run 10 gold shells and the rest AP. You're not gonna make money, but the T-54 never really does anyway.

D-54, that extra pen really helps, plus you're only going to be making money either with a pimped out T-54 or with premium.

D10T2C appears to be the gun for those who fire mostly HEAT.

Also, the D10T2C has much better accuracy on the move and standing still, with a better rate of fire.

its only a .37 improvement in the RoF, I personally prefer the higher pen, you won't be able to flank them(realistically) all the time

I prefer the D10T2C, but I do admit I get trolled by other T-54s and E-50s on those very rare chances where I have to fight them head on.

D-54 for me.  200 penetration at tier 9 just isnt enough...., something like a Maus you wouldn't be able to hurt even if you flank them with D10T2C

I am playing my T-54 more in close quarters. Accuracy doesn’t affect most of my encounters so I think I will get D-54.

Thank you for your replies guys, please feel free to add any comments or vote

Is there a noticable difference with on the move gun dispersion between the two?

TBH, i havent noticed the drop in pen to the D10T2C. I penned a panther 2's upper plate from 250m on a shot on the move. The D10T2C is only slightly more accurate but has only a bit longer than half the D54s aim time, which is huge. It is also slightly more accurate on the move, which is nice for flanking.

Voted D54 before i played enough games with the D10T2C. I wont go back to the D54 despite playing 800 games with that gun. The drop in aim time is pretty huge. Also, for some reason, the tank feels significantly quicker after the gun change. On paper its 200kg difference but in game it feels like much more. Maybe i have just played it so much i am sensitive to smaller changes, but i feel like i can accelerate from stopped faster with the new gun though it shouldnt be noticeable.

So the D-10T2C seems to have the majjority vote, while the replies seem to be at odds. I have unlocked all the relevant things needed ,except the gun.  So I would really appreciate more input from the community.

Thanks.

If gun cannot reliably pen at-tier tanks(such as E-50) from front, it is bad.

That is why D-54 is better unless you use all premium rounds.

The only thing that I see as a drawback for the D-54 is that 2.9 second aim time, about the same as the l/71 88 for the Tiger H. But it's pen is 18mm higher, and even that can make the different. The D10-T2C is 2.3 second aim time in comparison, and is more useful for accuracy on the move and flanking, or pulling off a shot faster than the other guy. It will depend on wehther you feel you need to penetrate armor more, or to get off a shot faster. That's the key difference.

They'll give it the T-44-122 treatment, 2 rounds per minute

What makes you think that using a gun with poor dispersion on hull / turret movement, a long aiming time, and a 12 second reload time is a good idea for a medium tank?
