Splitting the playerbase into two is a terrible idea. Beyond horrible.

What makes more sense is a single world-server somewhere (because latency makes very little difference to it) then clients having a preference to which shard servers they play on. Prefer euro, plays on euro shards. Otherwise plays on US. If in a platoon/clan grouping, the world server tallys the server selections and then the group battles on whichever has more. Bam, no playerbase separation, and people are happy because they have low pings.

This may be only a beta, but clans have already formed and a lot of them are going to be split in half because of this. Really, who wants to play with more lag? If they go with the native server, they get low ping, but have no clan (and/or have to make anew account on the other server). If they go with the other one, they have to play with lag always so will be much less likely to play for fun (and buy/spend gold).

Also, Adiyahu +1

Ya Im in a clan with a lot of EU players. After this whats going to happen? We cant just split up. There should be an option to let us switch between them or like you said have something to do with the platoon.

I personally like the splitting, every other MMO that I know of has separate EU and US servers. Just make an account on the EU server if you guys want to play with your EU friends. Oh and to the person above wondering how they are going to play against 300% US crews in clan wars you won't because the US is getting wiped to.

On top of that we won't be fighting the RU server on a combined clan wars map for quite sometime.

I'm really sorry to see that we'll be permanently assigned to whichever server we choose.  Most of the people I play with are in EU, although not all, and it's really kind of messed up that I have to decide which friends I'm going to play with.  I hate to say it, but that's probably a deal breaker for me, and more than likely I'll just quit playing until we can move between servers.

Too bad.  I would have liked this game otherwise.

I've got to tell you, I've played a lot of MMO's that allowed you to move between continents to play with friends.  Besides, when game items start costing money, do you think I'm going to want to pay twice to play with my friends in Europe and then my friends in North America?  Frankly, I don't have that kind of spare money laying around, even if it's a free to play game with microtransactions.  It's just not worth it to me, and I think I'd rather quit playing than choose between groups of friends.

QFT - i'm more likely to not spend any gold and only go to t34 on one server (maybe both, but that's unlikely) rather than spend gold so I can unlock up to IS and what not (not for freexp - so I can actually earn money and xp at a sane rate). More's the pity.

I have the same problem. I, myself, am from the EU, most of my friends are from EU. But my clan is mostly US-based and if i had to decide which server i'll play, i'll pick the US one, because of the clan. I don't care about the ping times, 150ms is not that bad, really.

However, myself, coming (and still actively playing) from EVE online, where all of the world (except for china) is playing on a single server and now being forced to choose a local non-changeable server...

So, please, wargaming, make it so that we could choose servers on which we wanna play dynamically (a logout/logon is fine by me). There were quite a few good ideas thrown around. And yet, the "W.o.T" combobox at the login screen is there for a reason, isn't it?

i'm not very thrilled at having people split up, having everyone together makes for a better gaming experience.
maybe instead of splitting people up to reduce timing issues, copy what the server hosting world has learned, and what you can do that works immensely well is use a server network:
players in the US connect to a US server (or a server bank0, European players connect to a EU server (or a server bank), Russian players connect to a RU server (or a server bank), etc. a server, or ideally a group of servers in major locations, and link the servers between each other, with the server grade business bandwidth servers use.

i've seen this work really well, instead of some players with a ping of 30, and others 150, some even 300, everyone has a nice low ping, and the server grade connection takes care of the heavy loads between countries, etc.
so everyone would have a ping under ~50ms, and experience no or nearly no lag spikes or anything of the sort, as business server grade connections are generally ~100Megabits/s, or ~12.5MegaBytes/s. this, is exceptionally faster than just about anyones' internet connections, whether you're on DSL, or you're someone who's got 20megs, 50megs, or 100megs. while a very few have lighting for an internet connection, most don't. and that majority connecting to a distant server, causes players to lag.

in the end you would probably have the same number or only minimally more servers than may be planned now, but would be using the horsepower more efficiently, so every player can have the best gaming experience they can.*

also, are these new vehicles we're seeing going to be added after the softwipe? or are they planned for the actual release. man do i want that T8 170mm of HE partytime. i wonder if i'll be able to oneshot a tiger ^^

and as has been said before, i was talked into trying world of tanks just after the last softwipe (man, i wish i'd tried it earlier.) and i would like to know how it may work, as i've got some mounds of resources, and i'd rather not lose them if i can help it. if i need to do something to keep them, then i'd like be be aware of what that may be.
i may not agree with the point of having softwipes at all, but if so i'd like to not lose half my stuff in the process.

*for those of you that may be ignorant and say this isn't possible or want to start some sort of war, this, does actually work, very well, i've seen it myself, please do not try to disprove such. that is not the point of the suggestion.

It has been confirmed that T-54 will get an improved 100mm over the D10T. So it wont be the same weaponry.

You wrong, T-54B still use 100mm D10T in Vietnam Army. And this photo show the real improved weapon on Vietnam T-54 tanks.

Thanks for the newsletter! Just want to say thanks and to keep up the good work to the devs, mods, and now the newsletter writers. I know you all can get a lot of flak whenever something doesn't go right, but as far as I'm concerned, this game is excellent for being in beta, and the rate of development.
