500k siver PER tank slot sounds good, you got my vote.

Never happen though, WG likes to make money.

They start giving everything away (gold rounds, tank slots, etc) we'll all be playing Hello Kitty because WoT will be DOA.

It's highly unlikely any more gold items will start being available for credits.. WG isn't going to remove their income source.  The gold rounds for credits was actually a move to generate revenue.. The main reason being. The vast majority of players go broke fast shooting credit based premium rounds, but it gives them a taste of what they can do.. Meaning if they want to do it a lot, regularly, then they have to open their wallets.

There'd be no incentive to make people open their wallets making other gold based commodities available for credits.

tank slots are a convenience, and so it's highly unlikely that WG will let us get them without paying gold

in general, things that are a convenience are fair game

I believe they allowed premium ammo to be purchased with silver because you get addicted to it and, when it is all consumed, you want more. Tank slots are permanent so are not as good a business model. That said, I believe they will allow you to buy other consumables, like Chocolate, Large Repair Kits or Gasoline, with silver some day. . .

I don't see why tank slots and consumables aren't available for credits.

Lets be fair, 95*%+ of gold is spent on premium, XP conversion and ammo.

* number pulled from my ass, but probably an underestimate if anything.

Garage slots are a form of micro-transaction and has no pay-to-win properties therefore will always be for gold.

Tier 8 premium tanks are also bought with excessive amounts of gold. Otherwise, WG needs to make money and making slots, etc. available only with gold forces players to buy it. I imagine the premium ammo will no longer be available for credits after 8.2 either as I'm sure they are seeing the amount of ammo being used now they can bait and switch it back to gold only.

8.2 will mark the END of free tanks and garage slots when a new nation is introduced..Yep, WG announced that decision, and the tier1 chinese tank you get for free, (With Garage slot) will be the LAST!

So just HOPE that when and IF they give a Holiday bonus code...it is for a free tank/slot...as they will be very valuable for the non-paying players...

Hey Kilgor...I missed that in the news releases, etc. Could you link to it? It makes me sad if that is in fact the case.

Man you need to keep up with the Q&A, especially the russian forums, and EU forums...

1) WG found that gold/silver rounds has NOT affected gameplay and WILL NOT revert this in 8.2  SPREMS are here to stay.
2) WG's CEO in an interview stated that WG makes it "Profits" from Premium accounts...(Not Gold ammo, or consumables, etc) and that even though the RU server is HUGE..the NA server is the LARGEST source of revenue for WG..

To be quite frank...what he said was EXACTLY what I and others have KNOWN for a long time...WG does things to drive players towards buying a premium account, and has always done this.

Premium tanks...nice make good credits...BUT...premium tank+premium account = BLING!!!!
Gold/silver ammo is EXPENSIVE, and when a player gets hooked on them...they will NEED a premium account to maintain there addiction...(Gold rounds=Heroin)

WG teases YOU every time you get those "Codes" that give you a free 24hr premium account, etc...then further teases you with the end game stats i.e

XP: 245 (With Premium):XP:3,546   (Lolz)

This is there to show you that you NEED that premium account, and also show the premium account holders to KEEP the account going...

These folks are very sharp knives, and that's why they are making a pile of cash from us...

Sure,
http://forum.worldof...ussian-answers/

But as you will see he keeps updating it, and you need to go thru it page by page to find the older stuff. There was a section where the dev stated they were ADDING stats to the game, like XVM style...but didn't say when.

But the front page has a new update and here is my fav..

"no additional security measures planned for the "end of the world" date 21.12.2012 - in fact, the end of the world was cancelled by Wargaming, because it stands in the way of their business "

I doubt we'd ever see permanent garage slots available for credits, but I'd love to be able to "rent" one for a period of time (say, a month for 250,000 or so?)  If you garage rental expires, it vanishes.  If there's a tank in it when it expires, the tank become permanently "locked" (as if it was in perpetual combat) until you either refreshed the rental, bought a space to put it in, or sold a different tank to make room for it.

Call me a skeptic but I very much doubt the "found" part. Of course they affected the gameplay, how could they not.

Which, yea, is most likely the reason they will opt to keep silver-prem rounds. It's actually a good business strategy but at the same time a really sneaky one. The only kink in their thinking may be that those of us who don't buy premium account haven't done so for a reason and may not be likely to do so for any other. If it turns out I can't effectively play the game w/o premium rounds and I can't afford premium rounds w/o premium account I will most likely be out. Question is how many others would follow suit and would that in the end matter to WG. I don't have a premium account, unlikely to ever get one at current price/ToS, nor a single premium tank, but I do buy gold every now and again for various XP and equipment transactions, so I'm not a complete free-loader either.

I would love the ability to "rent" a tank for silver just to try it out; without needing to research it first or buy a new slot for it. Sometimes, you research and purchase a tank that you do not like and was not on the way to a tank you really wanted so it was, essentially, a failed but expensive "experiment."
