OP,

It gets worse.  When you get to T10 with the British, you may wish you did not waste all that time for the tank you end up with. :P

I dunno about that, I have a clan mate who has some ridiculous win rake like 75% in the thing in pubs, mostly solo. As he pointed out, one on one it can take out any other tank in the game based on it's ROF. He loves the tank, playing it like a heavy medium I assume.

As far as the whole british lines are concerned, I have a few other unicum clan mates who are loving the british lines happily grinding them to the end. As with every tank, it's all about learning to leverage the tank's strengths and circumvent it's weaknesses. If you're a highly skilled player, the DPM of the british tanks is something that seems to put a smile on your face.

Excuse me, Is this the French Heavy or English Heavy thread? Because it sure sounds the same to me.

Hmmm? I have the IS-4 but I'm grinding the KV-4 out anyways, I don't see the problem.

I've made it as far as the Churchill I and its making me want to punch a wall some nights.  I keep trying to tell myself it'll be worth it. . . but now.  I'm a little scared to keep grinding away lol.

xD dude your going to hate the Churchill VII because its top gun the 77mm is pretty much just a slightly longer 75mm Vickers HV.

75mm Vickers HV stats for AP: 145 pen/ 135 dam.
OQF 77mm Gun Mk. II stats for AP: 148 pen/ 140 dam.

So far I haven't minded the 77mm, generally stay near base and place shots.  Its accurate enough and with some support it can be lethal.

At the moment I have 166 games in my FV215, with 57% w/r, and 2297 average damage per battle. These numbers are only going up. I've got every tier 10 heavy tank and FV215 is the best of the lot.

I'm convinced that In the right hands, the FV215 may be the most deadly tank in WOT. If you doubt that, consider this: yesterday a top gun medal (6 kills) and over 6000 k damage in a pub match was not a good enough performance for me to earn better than my current master tanker badge class 2. I thought maybe I'd get an Ace tanker badge, but I didn't even get a class 1. That means there are players out there who are seriously dishing out the damage and getting numerous kills with this tank.

The FV215 is like a high powered T110. It is the best long range sniper in the game. The armor is weaker than a T110 but stronger than an AMX 50b, And although it isn't a brawler per se, In the right circumstances it can fight and kill multiple tanks at extremely close range while taking little or no  damage. That's how good this tank is.

I looked at the World of Tanks Wiki for British guns and found out that their tier 7 to tier 9 looks like a copy/slight improve version of the tier 7 German 88mm L71 with cheaper shells cost. Only the Tier 10 guns are comparable to other nations.....  :Smile_amazed:  Hope the Chinese tree is better than this.

the tier 9 with upgraded gun and the tier 10 are the sole reason why im sticking at this grind. currently managed 18k of 28k needed to upgrade the turret on my conqueror. after that just another 60k to go till the best gun...

Ok so i've made it to the caernarvon. I actually have the conqueror unlocked but before i get it, i realised i have to grind another 45k exp on the caer. to unlock.......wait for it....the EXACT same gun, without any more pen or alpha, for a SLIGHT accuracy and rof boost. Then,  its another 23k for tracks, 28k for the turret, THEN ANOTHER 60k before you unlock a gun that looks to be competitive at tier 9-10. And thats not even including the exp for engine upgrades. I dont understand how the tier 9 is even slightly playable without the tier 10 gun....that final gun im really hoping will make a fun tank to play. Because this is frigging torture.

EDIT: in contrast, look at the is-3 to is-8 transition, and the t32 to m103 transition. Also feel free to check my stats in both of aforementioned tanks.

Ever played the Soviet Medium Line? French Light/Medium Line?

Wait, why did you put 110K XP towards the Conqueror without fully upgrading the Caern? That's asking for trouble: I typically upgrade my current tank fully before starting to work on the next tank. And there's no point buying the T9 without having the gun ready for it...

When you wonder why you are with people in stock tanks, this is the reason.  They refuse to research out their current tank because they are doing the bare minimum to get on to the next tank, instead of researching the current one out to make it better and give the next tank something better than stock to play with.

Yeah, I noticed the Caern basically has a medium tank gun for a tier 8 heavy, comparitavely speaking.  I can hold back tier 8 and 9 tanks in Himms on the 8 line with my elited T29, doubt I'd have as much luck on the Caern.  It just does not appear to have the same impact overall as a tank.

My biggest complaint is the lack of gun depression on the slow Churchills.

Ver, while I typically consider you the opinion to follow for how the russians are playong tanks, how can you say the FV215 is good?  I autoaimed one to death in my T110 while taking no damage in return due to reverse peekaboo.  Thybane makes it look good, but it dies SO quickly, cannot run away, catches on fire, a lot.  (If you know something I don't feel free to share). :p

I find the Heavy grind to be kinda fun and pleasent. The Black Prince is night and day better (for me) than the Comet.
