I downloaded XVM and also XVM stat, both from the Korean Random site:  http://www.koreanrandom.com/forum/topic/1397-xvm-world-of-tanks-extended-visualization-mod-download/

I was able to get it up and running without any issues.  However, the stats that are shown do not include predicted chance to win or lose.  Is it because the particular version of XVM I downloaded doesnt include that feature?  Or do I have to downlowd something else to get that feature?

Thanks

Do yourself a favor and go without the prediction, you will end up losing hope every other battle when you let it convince you of certain defeat, and get pissed when you lose what it makes you think is certain victory.  XVM is best used for prioritizing enemies and knowing which teammates are worth taking seriously and which to use as bait.

Very true. I've had 29%/35% win chance games where we won. And then 75% win chance games where we lost BAD.

Thanks.

WoTard your advice is no doubt right but what I find myself doing now is making my own mental calculations about our chances based on the stats I see, just want to see what XVM shows to see if there is anything useful to be learned.  I agree with you 100% best use of XVM is to see which players on your team you can rely on and which on the other team to target with a solid teammate.

Whitey, thanks.  I am not very computer savvy (I amazed myself by even getting XVM running at all), any chance you can point me to a walk through on how to change the config file?

Thanks

So true but answer me this, When XVM gives a 95% win chance you always lose badly and i meam we kill 1 or 2 of them and they roll through us like paper?

Just open the config file with notepad, and scroll down to:
"showChances": false, // true – Enable display of "chance to win" (only with xvm-stat)
Change false to true, and save.

Whatever you do please dont be one of those people that say in chat "we have no chance of winning". Im so tired of hearing that and proving them wrong.

Yes i do say ( were toast) or lets all die in town in hopes of getting teammates to try a little harder.
If i am not correct in saying were toast and we win a 25%win battle all the better.
Some times it just takes a little prod to get people going.

Thanks.  Once I figured out exactly what to do it was easy.

For others like me who are computer challenged, you go into the World of Tank directory in your C: drive, click on "xvm-doc", then click "samples"  (which are sample config files), click on "Full Config EN" (which is a sample config file in english), open the "XVM" file with Notepad, change "false" to "true" on the line for enable chance to win, then you save this edited file as another file name, "xvm config", then paste that saved file into the "res mods/8.1/gui/flash" folder.

Changing false to true in the sample file and saving it in the sample file does not enable it.  You have to either copy that edited sample file into the flash folder or save the edited sample and copy/paste it into the flash folder to get it to work.

HTH and thanks for your help.

Ah, but that is exactly my point!  A 95% chance of losing does not mean you always lose, it means you lose 95% of the time.  I know this may sound like I am being sarcastic, but truth is, it also means you win 5% of the time.  1 in 20 battles in that situation go to the underdog.  Those can be some of the sweetest victories and it is truly a loss to give them up before the battle even begins.  Morale is a real factor in combat and telling your team they have no chance of winning only helps your enemy.
The other side of the equation is also important.  Getting cocky with a 95% chance to win is how you truly suffer a humiliating defeat.  I have seen a number of battles where somebody will talk trash specifically because XVM predicted victory, only to ragequit after suffering some seriously embarrassing surprise buttsex.
You will notice a difference over time if, before each battle, you simply use XVM to point out the enemy's best couple players, instead of pointing out the overall odds.  If there is a player demoralizing their own team and turning a 95% loss into a 100% loss, then there has to be another player out there who is turning their 5% win into a 10% win.

...so if I were to want to download an xvm program that will only show me player stats and nothing else, is that possible?

Or will I be stuck with a whole bunch of other modifications I can't get rid of??

The XVM that I downloaded from the Korean random site linked in the first post added the xvm stats to the screen but the other changes are really minimal (and they are useful, such as a clock letting you know how much time is left to finish base capture).   Most of the changes listed I dont even notice in-game, perhaps they are even turned off and have to be manually turned on.

Also, I believe you can disable individual features by going into the files and either deleting the ones you dont want or turning them off.

Mine doesn't show the win/loss prediction at the start up screen either.  I make my best guess off the stats that pop up.

However, once I'm on the battle map and the clock is ticking down, the 'Tab' key brings xvm back up on screen, this time with the prediction.

no you can download everything from the xvm site, you can find tons of xvm cfgs to use or edit the one that comes with xvm to your liking,   (you need .net installed and dokan library )
