quick introductory lesson about the contents of this thread and how to use it, read or face peril said:

This first paragraph is important please read before deciding and/or continuing on.
Collection includes 21+ universally useful mods in 1 .RAR file, extract into your res_mods folder and your done, you should now be unstoppable with your FPS and skill level increasing together. :great:
Package download for version 0.8.6 is located at the bottom of post just above my last quote
Sentences in CAPITALS are titles for whats explained in each paragraph so you don't need to read the whole thread, please check each of these titles because depending on what your going to use, you may need to know some shit.
The package comes with a readme.txt which tells you exactly which files are for what mods and in which directories they're located, so feel free to delete any mods you don't want!!!
Ive also included an alternate mods package in a spoiler along with descriptions as to how/why the mods are different so you can swap any mods your not happy with.(please suggest any mods you think i should add to this package)

AWESOME MOD PACK LIST :glasses:(this number list 1-21 will be used to cross reference specific mods in the thread & readme file located in the 0.8.6 folder)
1. Turret to Hull angle orientation meter --- allows you to accurately measure what angle your hull and or turret is facing in relation to any environmental target(IE. enemy tank), in non-turreted tanks it becomes an angle limit indicator.
2. Jimbo's Normal tank cross hair --- standard practice all rounder cross hair mod with reload time display and countdown, looks awesome too.
3. Jimbo's artillery cross hair --- very useful arty cross hair, tells you; distance, shell travel time, reload timer, angle limits, target circles to help lead shots, etc.
4. zoom out for normal tanks & arty --- zoom out as far as you want in any tank you have.
5. sniper scope shadow remover --- no more black screen outline when your in sniper mode. must have.
6. accurate damage indicator --- replaces the generic red indicator with a precise one that shows you horizontally exactly where you were shot from, and you can shoot back.
7. permanent server-side reticle --- enables you to have a client-side and server-side reticle at the same time, this will improve your aim.
8. extended chat message fadeout --- you can set how long it takes for in-battle comms to fade off your screen, so you don't miss anything important. *mine is set for 20 seconds*
9. Artasan's white dead tanks --- any dead tanks will have their "model" turn white so you know where the "invisible" parts of the tank are and you can shoot past them at enemies.
10. Artasan's no vegetation --- removes extreme density from all plants so you can shoot people behind foliage and still see what your aiming at. does not affect game play mechanics! foliage is still recognisable.
11. Rabbit's damage panel --- much cleaner damage panel then the standard one and it counts the amount of damage and hits you receive as you play.
12. Locastans minimap --- gives you a high definition minimap featuring tank names, draw distance, spotting range limit, turret/hull direction laser, full screen minimap when you hold ctrl.
13. clock --- time/date/day displayed in garage and in battle, comes with a show/hide button for garage and the in-battle one is near the lag indicator.
14. zoom modifier --- increases max zoom from 8x to 16x.
15. Jimbos 6th sense icon --- Jimbo's custom sixth sense icon provides an easier to notice spotted symbol.

MODS TO IMPROVE YOUR CLIENT, NOT YOUR GAME PLAY;
16. Locastans extra statistics & session tracker --- provides more information in after battle reports and keeps track of your wins and losses for any given gaming session.
17. Enhanced crew skill descriptions --- provides specific buff values provided by each skill/perk in the description of each skill.
18. start up video remover --- game goes straight to login screen instead of repeatedly spamming the World of Tanks logo.
19. remember me tick box --- brings back the tick box on the login menu for the user to tick if they want the game to remember their username & password.

BELOW REQUIRE SOME EXTRA DOWNLOADS IN ORDER FOR YOU TO USE THEM.
20. XVM files from gui/flash --- basically tells you the skill ratings of every player in the battle in more ways then one. great mod, requires .exe which i cannot share, i will leave a link to developer website below.
21. tourettes guy crew voices --- funny and awesome mod i got a while ago, instead of that one bounced your commander will just yell obscenities at the top of his lungs, has many different quotes, quite amusing.

MODS NEEDING EXTRA WORK EXPLAINED;
21. The crew voices mod is 350mb and for the sake of upload/download times i recommend getting it from the tourettes mod creators thread which can be found here; http://forum.worldof...-foul-language/
20. with XVM all i can supply inside the package is what you will need in your 0.8.6 folder, you can get the full XVM here; http://code.google.c.../downloads/list if you need help installing XVM just reply to this thread.
to run XVM you must install "dokan library" or your computer won't be able to run XVM due to the way it has been coded, you can get dokan library here; http://dokan-dev.net/en/

MOD SETTINGS NEEDED FOR FIRST TIME INSTALL:
7. To use the server-side reticle you must tick the enable server-side reticle box in your game settings on the first menu page.
8. To change the message fade out timing on the extended chat messages mod, you must open this "res_mods\0.8.6\gui\messenger.xml" with a text document reader and change the lifetime variable shown in the spoiler below.
Spoiler
to whatever amount of seconds you want messages to appear for.
20. I have included a professional XVM config that lists all damage you visibly output, who you shot, how many times, and SO ON, also lists player global win ratios and battles played but if you use alternate view it will also display the tank win % and battles, it shows the player rating at all times of course, but the default settings are fine for casual gamers, just delete the res_mods/xvm/xvm.xc file to regain default settings.

ALTERNATE MOD OPTIONS
if you want a mod similar to what i have provided instead of what i have actually provided then let me know and i will upload a fully working version of that mod for you.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS!
Download the RAR file, extract it into your "world_of_tanks" folder and merge my res_mods with the res_mods which the game should have already made on your machine.
my readme.txt file tells you what mod EVERY file is for, so if you don't want a mod, just reference the readme.txt and go delete the files related to the mod you don't want.

0.8.6 PACKAGE DOWNLOAD>>>http://www.mediafire..._mods_0.8.6.rar ~35MB (all included mods are 0.8.6 compatible)
ALTERNATE MOD OPTIONS>>> need mod requests in order to open this option
Note: None of these mods are mine, all credit goes to their creators. i am just a user and am trying to spread the same pleasures i enjoy to anyone who's smart enough to look.

MY PARTING REQUESTS FOR ANYONE WHO INSTALLED ANY OF THE MODS OR READ THIS FAR.

Quote

If you have ANY problems/suggestions you can reply here or PM me on the forum or add me on the SEA server and i will usually resolve issues within 24 hours, but i list the mods individual files in the readme.txt so anyone can solve their problems with a tiny bit of initiative.

Replies are encouraged, if not for socialising or experience sharing then at least to bump the thread as i know that a lot of people can benefit from these mods just as you have.
If you like the mods, take 5 minutes to write a short review maybe telling others of what mods you used and/or how it benefited your game play.
Even if you refuse to install any of the mods and/or there is something you think i can improve/fix, reply! and let me know what/why, i cant improve this project of mine without some constructive criticism.

PS. I appreciate the Reputation points, it helps confirm my credibility and the usefulness of this package.

THAT IS ALL!!! ENJOY THE MODS, I KNOW I WILL :playing:  CIAO

Thanks for the files. Just a note, the server-side reticule causes my game to get stuck on the battle loading screen, it never goes to the countdown. all the rest work great

that's odd, everywhere else Ive tested this it worked fine, did you have any other mods installed before you tried this and/or did you delete any of the mods that were in the package before testing it?

if anyone can think of a mod i should add to this, or knows of a mod that is better then something Ive already included please reply here and let me know,
i want to make this package as good as it can be, since each user can delete what they don't want, it really doesn't matter how many different mods i put in.

added mods which don't affect gameplay, but will allow people to QUICKLY recover from any CTD;
1. username and password "remember me" tick box at login menu.
2. startup video skipper

cheers, i started doing this the first day 0.7.1.1 came out, but i dropped off supporting the package after 0.7.4, the mods around then were incompatible as **** :P
had a look at your package, are you allowed to share the dokan install? i haven't shared most of xvm and the like because of forum rules.

downloading 0.8.2 now, when the SEA server comes back up i will test which mods work and which ones dont, then i will upload two packages,

i will describe the mods with glitches and you guys can install any you feel you can live with.

edit - already sorted both packages, we have the main mod package which is basically a complete collection, there is another package with a few mods in it that you can replace some of the main mods with if your not happy with them.
its all compatible with 0.8.2

updated and improved for 0.8.2.

increased features of the following;

mod 3; arty cross hair; replaced Jimbos mod with a proper DAR cross hair which has 10x more information, you can choose to ignore the information if you want, it doesn't really get in the way.
mod 4; zoom out mod; zoom out limit is the point where you are about to lose sight of the map due to view range...

enjoy the mods people, and as always, please reply with any suggestions, comments or problems, i check this daily for feedback.

if you have ANY problems you can reply here or PM me on the forum or add me on the SEA server and i will usually resolve issues within 24 hours, but i list the mods individual files so anyone can solve their problems with a tiny bit of problem solving.

also replies are encouraged simply to bump the thread as i know that a lot of people can benefit from these mods but i don't want to spam my own thread, once a day already seems bad to me so please if you like the mods, take 5 to write a short reply maybe telling others of what you used and/or how it benefited your game play.

based on this, sometime in the next hour, i will organise and edit my original post with an extra alternative mod pack of which i will definitely include the previously used battletimer.swf which only provided the turret orientation meter function(just above your consumables display at the bottom), i may also include other mods in it like jimbos arty and whatever else people suggest, but i will keep what i myself am using in the main package.

ps. you may know this but for anyone else reading, with the orientation mod; depending on your armour and the enemies gun penetration you should sit about 15-40 degrees to your biggest threat, preferably on the low side of the angle but if its like a Tiger II vs m4a3e4 for example you could sit up around 30, i use 40 alot in my maus lol :)
just seems like some information people might want to know if they are using it for the first time, good luck :)

i am running under the assumption you deleted the battletimer.swf file in order to remove the obstruction? can you confirm if your still nearby?
cheers for the response anyway mate, its exactly what i need for ideas :)

edit - alternate mod options package is now included in the original post, with 2 mods inside it so far, i will be building upon this package as it exists as purely theoretical options while the main package is a proven combination of mods i will be using without much change until 0.8.3

should i be happy or disappointed that i stayed up all night working on this shit and out of 42 downloads Ive received 1 reply?

even a thanks would be nice, otherwise what am i wasting my time for? i don't need sleepless nights of mod testing and thread essay writing just so i can sit here, talk to myself and watch a download counter go up...

edit - not trying to be an ass, just the last time i had sleep was when i woke up for work on Friday morning at 4am, its now 11:41 am Saturday and not sure if it was worth it lol xD

Yep. Battletimer was the one. It looks useful, but I am simply unfamiliar with it atm. Still learning a lot of the new mods to me. The dead tanks painted white is great! The zoom is absolutely useful...especially when in platoon and helping mates when dead.

all good, anything i can do to help, i didn't do all this for no reason, i want this to be a successful package that people can rely on from update to update, same as the last package i maintained between 0.7.1.1 and 0.7.4
