Love it! I appreciate the effort.

Couple of suggestions/questions.

Is there an easy option to re-enable the mini map to show the last spot a tank was sighted at. The version I suggested in the pm i sent you, had an * and the tank name in white font vs red/green. In the current version of that mod I suggested, he removed the *. It helps a ton, I would love to get it back. I can email you that version if it helps.

The round range circle on the mini map is at max spot range for any tank, there is also a square that shows the max target range once a team member has spotted a tank. For example, if I was sniping with a TD, and a team member has a tank spotted on the minimap, I can only view it on my screen if its within the box, but it can still be outside the circle. In some cases, a quick move of 30 meters will get the tank targetable, but still keep you out of the circle view range, so you can snipe away with no fear of getting spotted.

ok... i want these.... however, i am a TOTAL noob when it comes to mods.....  as in i haven't ever done it or tried to before...

so

1. i have DL'd the pack and extracted to the res_mods folder.. check
2. copied and pasted the 0.8.3 in the pack to the 0.8.3 folder created by the game.. check
3. now, do i copy and paste the individual mods to their respective game files?

baisicly... how do i implement the mods i want?

   thank you in advance for your patience with a mod noob

How did you get it to work? Or can anyone else help me?  I've unzipped to my res_mods folder, do I just copy and paste 0.8.3 into the original 0.8.3? Any help is appreciated.

at work at the moment when I get home I will have a look at the tracers & scripts.

Ps. you need to copy paste the whole res_mods folder or the game wont launch. it needs the mmap.xml file which is outside the 0.8.3 folder

@diadustt
lol yea send me the old version and i will see if i can make it work.
I'm fully aware of those details with the spotting & viewing mechanics, but as you just showed, it takes ages to explain and i want this to be easy to understand for everyone.

im about to start working on the tracers, probably have an update by tomorrow if i get swamped today.
edit- progress update; avatar_input_handler.xml is the cause, this is required for the server-side reticle and zoom out mods. you can delete the file if you want tracers back at the expense of those mods.

@stormlight76
the whole idea of this collection is simplicity, just copy the first directory you see in the .RAR folder, and merge it with your real directory.
in this case you should copy the res_mods folder straight into yours, it will have a 0.8.3 folder and MMAP.XML file which is needed for your game to launch.

@sharpg
as above all you do is copy paste, you can create a new 0.8.3 folder or merge with your original the only way something could go wrong is if you dont copy the whole package.
after copying the whole package you can remove any mods you dont want by following the directory listings in the readme.txt

@derth & xiiredstar
thanks for the replies guys, thats what im here for.
aslong as i get continued support/interest i will keep this updated, as i too need these mods or my game would be dull as well lol :P
ps. its wildy not willy LMFAO

almost done updating the mod package for 8.4, all of the game mods are working except for one which im yet to find a replacement for.

Quote

currently not working;
startup video skipper
server-side reticle overlay

replaced;
demoles damage panel with rabbits damage panel(more functionality since demole hasnt updated his since 8.2)

new gameplay aspects;
you can zoom in via scroll but in order to exit zoom mode you need to push the shift button, its faster and prevents accidentaly leaving sniper mode when in close combat.

here is the almost finished package link: http://www.mediafire...ub2fnmd3e196bdu
when i have the server-side reticle working i will update the Original Post with the full package.
this will get you back to a happy place though :)

i have to go get my tyres replaced as the front is ready to blow out and one of my rears just got a hole in the wall >:( but i will get back on to finish this package later on.

updated thread with new 0.8.4 package.

after much searching for the permanent serverside reticle without a hint of existence i have decided to upload the package without the mod, as soon as i find a 0.8.4 compatible version i will update this and if anyone finds one then please let me know.

other then that the whole package is working, better then before even :). enjoy.

INSTRUCTIONS!
Download the RAR file, extract it into your "world_of_tanks" folder and merge my res_mods with the res_mods which the game should have already made on your machine.
my readme.txt file tells you what mod EVERY file is for, so if you don't want a mod, just reference the readme.txt and go delete the files or use one of the provided alternate mods explained just below.

step by step;
you open the readme.txt located in your res_mods/*game version* folder. (currently 0.8.4)
find the entry titled Artasans white dead tanks.
the files listed are what you need to delete (if the file is required for multiple mods it will be noted)

in this case you need to go to your res_mods/0.8.4 folder and delete your whole vehicles folder.
example;
Artasans white dead tanks; 1
vehicles/*all folders*

the "1" just indicates it is included in the package, i use it during testing.

goodluck :)

Not sure what I am doing wrong or different from 8.3 (Which worked awsome) but the mini map is totally white.  I have redownloaded the game 2 times and followed your instructions to the letter with the same results.  any ideas? everything else works great!
