XVM Stat on Windows 8

I am trying to use XVM Stat on Windows 8 but am running into the problem that the Dokan Library will not install on Windows 8 as far as I can tell. When I try it says my OS isn't supported. Anyone have a solution for this? Thanks in advance.

Nevermind... I installed it in compat mode for Win 7 and it worked. Not sure why but when I tried this the first time it didn't work.

What is interesting is that I had everything installed on a Windows 7 machine and then did an upgrade and it all works fine. But people I know who did a clean install of 8 have had nothing but trouble with compatibility. Guess Microsuck just puts everything already installed in Win 7 compatibility mode.

Windows 8 is really just Vista 2.0, which itself was really just ME 2.0, et cetera.

LMFAO... windows 8 has a built in windows 7 and XP sub OS.... its compatible with everything... I have found no issues with anything at all...... you have to actually know how to use it like the OP already noted, us windows 7 mode..... only 2 options to use windows 8.... A CLEAN install which for whatever reason most dont know how to do and an upgrade from 7 to 8.... trying to clean instal the upgrade or upgrade the clean install will not work.... read and do research before you make uninformed claims and spread them around.... FACT is windows 8 performs better in every bench mark tested so far from many many different labs. Being afraid cause you dont understand or want to learn something new is one thing.....

XP; had a ton of problems at the start, but turned out great
vista; great if you're not stupid, or someone that drones on the media
7; great
8; horrifying for those too lazy to research, wonderful for mid level to advanced users who understand that it takes time to perfect a product and learn its strengths.
most have issues with their own hardware\software rather than the OS.... if you are running a pc that came installed with XP then maybe you expect to much

I'm assuming you're not a power user or programmer, nor do you have a technical computer background; If my assumptions are wrong, then you have a stronger stomach than I.

not even close..... you are only looking as deep as graphical interface... the sub system has been completely redone and made more effecient.... breaking down to the root of the OS, it resembles xp, vista and 7 less then any other OS resembled its past Os...
Perhaps if you used proper capitalization, punctuation, and grammar, as well as toned down your use of ellipses, I MIGHT take you seriously when you talk about "OS subsystems". Until then, I ask for a more substantive dismissal of my opinion regarding how the mentioned operating systems have been received. Not simply in regards to their superficial prettiness (aesthetics) but their approachability by common users and power users. what matters more than what an OS looks like, or how well it performs under the hood, is how well it meets the needs and expectations of current and future adopters of that platform. Just because a tool is technically better doesn't mean anyone wants to use it.

So i got a Toshiba laptop with Windows 8 for X-mas (it's bought and paid for, and I'm the proud owner) and I can't drive AND look around with the mouse. I also noticed on the desktop that the mouse cursor won't move with a button depressed. Gotta be a settings thing right. Idea's?

Works just fine for me on a desktop pc. Shouldn't be any settings.

Enable compatibility mode for either Windows 7 or Windows XP for the main WorldOfTanks.exe in the install directory, not the WOTlauncher.exe that the desktop shortcut links to. It won't matter if you start the program by the launcher or the actual game executable as long as the main executable has compatibility mode selected.
If that doesn't work then I'm not sure what else could help. Aside from installing DirectX 9, but that should already be on your system since you installed WoT.
