Loss of experience with Elite tanks

When ever I use my earned elite tanks & the bought elite tanks, it's a 10-20% chance I get to keep the experience I get from winning a battle. Example: My side wins, and like this 3x now this chrismas, I get 2-3000 experience according to the After battle report.
When I close that report and go to research to upgrade, I have 0 nill nada experience to upgrade with. If there was 2 experience from before..that is what's there after a winning or loosing battle.
The problem is that Sometimes I get the experience from the battle report into my research window and I can upgrade my tanks.
Is this a common bug, or a design feature(if so, worst feature ever) or is this something that only happens to me.
I like to fight with my elites..but there is no point in using them when your gathering experience to research upgrades for your tanks.
I have premium, etc etc

Your're wright..have to check that. My brother got me hooked one this game, and he have setup training on all of them. Might be it. checking now....
