cH4z's Photo cH4z Dec 24 2012

Hey i'm fairly new to World of Tanks and I decided to go throught the German Tech Tree. I've recently just purchased my PzIV and i'd like some tips/strats to help me!
I'd also like to know which upgrades you guys reccomend. Thanks in-advance!

Many would disagree with that assertion, though I do use the 75mm L/48 myself

Use HE on the stock gun. Your guns pen levels are relatively low so you'll have to learn some weakpoints on the enemies you'll be facing. Don't rush out, you're mainly a support tank whether you pick the 75mm L/48 as your final gun or the 105mm Howitzer. Don't hull down, your turret face is pretty weak.

If you want to use a normal tank for sniping and supporting, use the 75mm, if you want to brawl, use gold rounds or HE rounds on the 105mm.

Dude assuming your talking about the reg one not the premium.
Learn to shoot the derp 105. I snipe with it.
210 battles 57.14 % win rate.
I have 1- 8 kill battle and average 2.8 kills per death.
Sit back in a bush and snipe with the derp. Wait till your target stops let your reticle get as small as possible then bam. Then close and blast them.
I have about 7 reaper meddles with this thing.
Its not easy but it is fun as hell and OP at least for me.

HE for the 105. Id say use the long 75mm but they took that away and stuck it on the tier 6 premium.

Its a simple tank, use it as a support, try not to brawl too much, just sit in the back or sides, and shoot stuff without taking hits.

My Pziv along with the M4 is kept as a money maker tank. I'm racking up skills and keeping the tank so I have lots of money.

I use the 75mm and snipe. I have a camo net and optics. the M4 has a rammer, a vent, and a net. PZIV is a good tank, you can't go wrong.

I get some good fights in mine. It's a money maker. Even when we lose I get some money, can't go wrong.

my mk 4 is one of my favorite tanks , i use the 105 and brawl with it , just dont get hit as its fairly thin on the armor . light tanks are your target so dont be afraid to sit back and defend the arty for a few min then when things look like they are taking shape go and support the push . it works for me and for up grades i like the ventilation the rammer and havent decided on the last one .

As others have said it is a support tank. Either gun works and can work very well. I used both of them for awhile and finally decided to go with the 75mm cause it fits my play style a bit better. I would urge you to try out both for awhile and then decided which one works best for you.

With the 75mm I tend to hang back a bit and snipe from the second line at the enemy. Then when I see a chance I will move to a flank and flank the enemy or move around to around behind their lines. This is risky but can pay off well.

The 105 is pretty damn good, just make sure you have the crew skill to use it.  Otherwise it can be painful.

I love my Pz4 with the 105 derp. Picked up a Top Gun yesterday with it. I used the 75 for a while, but after trying the 105, there was no going back.

Pz4 is my moneymaker too. I use the 105mm exclusively, with which it dominates lower-tier tanks on the battlefield (though the Matilda is tough to pen). Lower-tier tanks get HE, same and higher-tier tanks get AP shells. Just the other day I one-shotted a full-health PzIV in the side/rear with an AP shell.

It's also fast and maneuverable enough to double as a scout if needed, especially if you have the skill that increases rotation speed.

Just make sure to present your front, at a slight angle. The sides and rear are woefully unarmored.

Edit: Got this PzIV after the 8.0 update, so don't know what the pre-update tank was like.
