I've made 120k in a loss with the JT8.8. 190k is my max in a win.

170k is far too much to believe, 200k is plausible once in a blue moon. You have to do an absurd amount of damage for that every match. It's too much for a regular match. With my T34, dishing out around 6k damage, I can do around 150k-160k. And those matches are hard to happen, mostly I sit around 100-130k. And even when those matches with a lot of cash happens, they usually take long. Almost 15 mins to finish. Perhaps the 122-44 could be more fun if you solo pub, since it turns darn fast and have a great alpha. The 175 pen isn't a problem either if you ever played a Super Pershing. Most tanks can be hurt with that. If you play a lot with a platoon of friends, the JT88 is probably the best option since they can support your weak sides.

After playing the SU-101, I'm inclined to say that the 122-44 is a great tank, better than the JT on many aspects except penetration. If it was a tier 8 or had the tier 8 cash multiplier, it would be the perfect tank destroyer for cash grinding.

I've got both but I voted for the 88.

The SU is incredible fun in Tier 7 matches. Against T7 or lower the thing is seriously OP. It has no real penetration issues and does great damage.

The issue for me with the SU is it sees T8 and T9 matches. T8 and T9s heavies can be very frustrating because the gun doesn't really have the pen to damage them reliably from the front.

The JT on the other hand will never see more than T9 because it gets favored MM. Unlike the SU it can pen Tier 9s from the front if you shoot at weakspots - and the 88 is accurate enough to hit those fairly reliably from distance. It also makes better credits being a Tier 8.

That said, from a pure "fun" standpoint, the SU is better. It's very mobile and has great traverse - it's really more of an assault gun than a pure TD. My experience in the SU has been more extreme - I've had a couple of unreal 100K credit matches and a few where I had multiple bounces and died without doing any damage.

The JT in general needs to stay far back. It's slow with very poor traverse and is a huge arty magnet. And if a fast tank gets in on you, you're dead.

JT 88 if you want to train German crews for the garbage German TDs.

SU if you want to train Soviet crews for good TDs.

Both seem capable in the right hands, but the JT will take a lot more skill. If you played the normal JT you will probably do well. SU seems to just kick people's teeth in all around.

You can't compare a tier 7 and tier 8 vehicle in the same sentence.

The 8.8 makes a boat load of cash, more so than the SU 122.

But the SU122 has better match making and the 8.8 runs into tier 9 which will give you more credits when you shoot/kill them.

The Su122 is also OP and everyone knows it or they wouldn't play it so much.  It will eventually have a nerf to its gun.

I've stopped reading there. That's a noob comment at best.

For cash, get the JT88, read my guide, go forth and conquer...

Contrary to what many will tell you, the JT88 is not a trash tank, it's actually pretty damn awesome.

SU-122-44 is also very fun and does earn pretty well for a T7 premium, but the low HP and expensive ammo makes it harder to break 100k...

I won't comment on which is better, as I haven't played the 8.8, but I will just say that earlier in my SU-122-44 a T20 tried to get my back/side and by the time our dance was over I had him pinned
:Smile_great:.
Ya the 122-44 is a spinner, I had a Type 59 try to circle straff me out in the open, 1300 in hp damage later and he was dead.
