I was working my win rate up. Was at 46.5% after 4K games, now am at 52.5% after 12K. Working hard on winning, working strategies, playing to tank's strengths, understanding other tank's weaknesses and exploiting them. All was going well, having success and reward. But now...

Since 8.0 it is too hard to consistently win. Something has changed and frankly, the fun has gone out of the game. I've gone back to low tiers to see if that was the problem. I've changed aggression levels, I've used more gold rounds, been careful with skills. Bottom line is it is hard to win more than about 48% now, and that just means that I am no more competitive than the next guy. I'm better than that, but the game seems to be evening everyone out.

I have two close friends I play a lot with, and they have had the same experience. What the hell is it, and does WoT really care if there is an issue? If anyone has any odeas I am ALL EARS!

I've found my win rate is directly tied to the time of day I play.  I was playing last night and went 5 for 15.  Same tank this morning, same playstyle, same random pub matches and I went 11 for 17.  I don't know why the time matters, but it's not the first time I've seen my win rate change in such a manner.

What tanks are you driving? Are you playing tanks that you are comfortable/experienced with and fit your playstyle?

Bad drivers hasn't changed, but it sure as hell was a lot better pre-8.0 when my Lee faced really high tiers.

Maybe you try to hard and are overpushing it? Just settle down and enjoy the battles. Win rates will get better when you get your teams to do more coordinated things. Depending on the tanks you yourself are driving, you should be able to change the course of at least the flank you are on.

Yeah I'm finding even in tanks I have good records in - I've played near 13K games, I have a few - I am seeing just bad team after bad team. It's been since the beginning of November. Picked up new tanks and it's the same. I certainly do affect the outcome of my games. I usually do well, but the losses keep mounting. I keep a record (ok, call me a nerd!) of where I come, and I actually hit top 4 more often in losing games than I do in winners.

Still, it's nice to know some folks out there still win. I'll try to relax.

The signature, such as ViniZaoD's above, where do I get that? It sure is funky!

I realy thought i was going to have trouble with 8.1 but I just keep a open mind and try to not let bad matchs bug me. In the end i stayed about the same as befor 8.1. Wining in this game is a mind game as any thing. I go in to ever match trying my best and hoping my team follows suit. And it been working this is not to say I dont get bad lose I do i just keep playing my game, And in the end i get enough wins to keep even.

why do you care so much about the win rate stat? it is a stat that depends on 29 other people.

Winning a game depends on what 29 other people do. Over 12000 games, it depends on what YOU do. See OP. He raised his quite a lot by hard work.

Relax Hollidays bring out the kids and casual players that unbalance the games. Plus people drive all thier Tanks in the Garage, even the ones they suck at for the 5x.

All the kiddies are out from school and many are off from work. It has been horrible during the day as well. Matches where you would at least see some minimal intelligence has been replaced with Let's All Charge the Left! Then they stop in one big group and die.

I think the game is the best it's been since 8.0 and the introduction of physics, which added a new dimension to the gameplay. Bad teams are bad, and there's not much you can do about that. Either focus on your own playing and doing well, watching the minimap and trying to take into account your own team's fail and compensate for it, or go take a break and come back the next day or something.


TimiBoy, if you'd like to post a few replays of your playstyle, I might watch them and point out some things you could work on or do better.

Ironic I went 15 wins and 6 losses last night in my Platoon of 3.  I have noticed that around 11 AM EST I get better Tier 5 match ups with 10K players on than I do at 8 PM+ EST with 25K+ players on.
