I have come to the realization that playing(solo pubs only) to improve your W/R, will ruin the fun of this great game :Smile-angry: . On the other hand, playing to deal maximum damage in you're 704, annoying the enemy team in your T-50-2  :Smile_trollface-3: , or dumping out credit rounds in your mini derp M4 just to name a few, will result in the fun thisgame is intended to bring. Always look to improve your game, just make sure you're enjoying what you're doing, and you'll get the most out of this game.

Trouble with PUBs is that there is a great abundance of 15 - (<4) games out there. If you win, you don't get to contribute that much as you guys roflstomp, and if you lose you probably didnt get to get more than a few shots off until you team folded.

It's hard to contribute when you are winning or losing far to well.

Had a Matilda BlackPrince and in many battles I never got to the front lines. Now, that isn't fun.

I find winning fun.

You know what, since it's a feel good thread, I'll give you an amnesty card in case you want to bail out now.

Winning is funner than losing.

BUT:
I'd rather play well in a loss than stomp 15-2 in a win where you barely have time to fire a shot......(because all the enemies are dead).

Then question. If you knew that sitting in the back and not moving or firing would guarantee the win, would you do it? And would it still be fun?

O

O

Only an idiot wouldn't.

Free XP for me, and a free win for me.

I do it all the time in my ELC, often I have to discipline myself from unloading a 90mm into an idiot E75 who's shown side just so I can direct fire from our M103 into him without breaking camo.

I think what the OP is trying to say is that you should always try to improve your game play, but that it should never become a chore or work as it defeats the purpose of playing a game in the first place. Yes, you should play to win but not at the expense of enjoying yourself as well.

Otherwise, winning is fun and I also enjoy a well played loss where the teams fought hard and the game could go either way. Unfortunately, it seems that such games are becoming more elusive.

No doubt I enjoy a win, but if I hold winning on such a high pedestal, that every loss makes this game less fun for me... That's my point.

For a just average player who get on 3 times a week, I need to enjoy the game if Im going to continue. Me playing for wins wasn't fun, so I'll do what I know is fun, just keeping it simple.

Love it!!!!

Look, I had a night from hell, last night. Started the night with a platoon of purple, but even though we went 6/8 for our first 8 games, it was obvious that every window licker was playing.

The platoon just quit for the night, but I decided to keep playing. Jumped in a Plt with clanmates, and played tiers 9-10 mostly. I have had the fortune/skill of going 3,500 games without a bad session, and last night was not....

Yes, it was bad, and I never saw so much TK'ing, stupidity, etc, in a very long time.

But I enjoyed the game, and the people in my platoon. I did not enjoy losing, but I enjoyed playing. I played to win, but lost. That is different then Playing for "Fun"
I won't debate scrubs anymore, as I see that they, (<47%'ers) are clearly without the mental capacity to understand mere words. If tonight is remotely like last night, I will simply load sprems, and troll in the wickedest of ways. I will consume the tears of the scrubs, and enjoy the intoxication. Sometimes we have to admit that the scrubs outnumber us 10 to 1, and you just have to think of better work arounds....

I for one am fed up with this "Fun" crap, since FUN for them is deliberately disrupting the enjoyment of others, and using it as an excuse for pathetic ability in a game, is even more pathetic.

OP, you couldn't be more wrong.  I have spent the past month playing T5 tanks exclusively, and both my win rate and joy for the game have improved considerably.

I spent most of my career playing +T7 tanks because I preferred the slower pace of battle and more 'predictable' game play.  Not to mention the higher level of destruction.  Because the arty is so lethal, the T10 TD's ability to 2 shot any tank, and the heavy (and all T10 meds) tanks so powerful, any deviation from the 'script' meant certain death.

There were two types of battles; one team fails to secure key positions properly and they would quickly fall like dominoes (great for the winning side) or both teams set up properly and it turns into a long grind out slug feat.  In the second instance, someone on either team would lose patience and make a ill advise solo attack, resulting in the other teams victory.

A funny thing happened after I inappropriately reacted to a teammate who wasn't following 'the script', resulting in a 24 suspension.  I logged onto my sons account and reentered the wild and crazy world of T5 tanks.  WOW!  What fun!  Yes, arty and TD' will lead rushes.  Yes, slow heavies with inaccurate guns will climb steep hills to snipe.  But in this anything goes play style is a wonderful opportunity to be creative and improvise.

I transferred my upper tier elite crews into T5 tanks, purchased a Churchill and T14, and haven't looked back.  I make huge contributions in most battles, all solo, and have fun in the process.  Since the tanks and tankers are not as lethal, it's easier to transit open areas to support flanks.  The battles are usually over in 5 minutes which is also nice, as you can squeeze one more battle in between real-world events.

If one can't have fun soloing successfully at the lower tiers, then you are doing something wrong.

I use to be a play for fun players, but it gets old losing all the time.

I don't play my other games weather it is COD, Battlefield 3, Total war series or anything else only to lose.  Losing sucks in those games.

So I use to say hey I can't control 14 other idiots.

Fact is you can contribute, it's taken me a while to get better but I'm getting there.

But in a bad match, losing team etc... I make 3 goals for myself

1.  Get at lest 2 kills (I at least did my part and the team fail wasn't because of me)
2.  Get as much damage as I can, If I deal less damage than the HP on my vehicle then I'm doing it wrong.
3.  Make it a point to take out arty ( I hate arty, and I absolutely believe they should have a repair bill every single match)

So yeah, winning does matter because losing all the time sucks!

Show me a player who gets tired of winning, and I'll show you a loser.
