Ok, this map rotation thing needs to change. It seems that on any given night you will see the same 3 maps over and over and over.

Last night it was an Ensk fest. Sometimes twice in a row. Maps need to come back into rotation. Sorry if you don't like Swamp or Komarin, we need more variety.

Go to your replays folder, take a screenshot, and post it so we know how many different maps you got.

Is the OP debunked yet?

I will start to do that tonight. But emperical data aside, many people experience the same thing. I haven't seen Dragon Ridge in days. That's not random.

It is in theory possible you and probablaly someone will get the same map 5 even 10 times in a row at some point...

This is true with 2 maps or 10 maps or even 50 maps, it does become less likly with more maps, but its still going to happen eventally.

Lert, theres the rub. Certain people experience this phenomenon and others don't. I'll check if I have the replays turned on. If I do I'll post a screenshot.

Yes, because faulty memory and confirmation bias trumps empirical data, right? See screenshot above.

And many don't. Your point?

It seems you have a very faulty understanding of what 'random' means. As for dragon ridge not being in any map rotation, again I refer you to my screenshot of my replay folder. It's a single day of playing.

Lert, you're missing the point and you know it. The point is that the map rotation is no where near random.

I have to agree with the OP, solely because about 3 months ago, I got Steppes twice in a row.

I have yet to see any evidence of that, cs2. Despite all those threads claiming what you're claiming, I've seen no evidence of it whatsoever. I haven't even seen anything that might suggest it. In fact, all evidence that I have seen, suggests the opposite of your claim. Does it disprove your claim? No. My own experience, various experiments already run and my own data simply strongly suggests that your claim is bullcrap.

It's like all those threads about hacking, or all those threads about invisitanks popping up <20 meters. There's atleast a few of them almost every week, and nobody has ever managed to post any proof.

So until you do, I'm going to sit here, shake my head and sigh.

As for multiple people experiencing the same thing - multiple people claim to have seen UFO's and gray space aliens as well. Does that make them any more real?

Please, for god's sake, if you're going to make any claim whatsoever, POST PROOF.

I dont see many repeat maps for different tanks.

Now a few times I have seen the same map a few times when using the same tank.

The OP is right, and obviously failed to search the topic.

Here's what the devs have stated;

For a several hour period, (1-2 hours or 2-3) There will ONLY be several maps in rotation, then after that time frame they will be rotated to a new map group. Yes, it has been flamed over, but they will not change this. So if you do not care for the current block of maps, then wait an hour and try again.

I agree, that when you can get a couple of hours of tanking in, you dont want to see the same 2-3 maps over and over, but this is the way it is.

NOW since it is an issue that frustrates, maybe WG can meet us all halfway and POST the maps in rotation, and the times of rotation, i.e

6pm EST-9pm EST map rotation 1
Mines
Cliff
Elhalluf
Ensk
Erlenberg

etc, etc

No reason they can't...would be nice to know how much longer, before rotation, etc. Currently they wont say exactly how many are in a "Group" nor how long this timeframe is, but it appears to be 5 maps +/-1, and about 2-3 hours, as this is when I notice new maps being played.

And Lert, are those battles sorted in order, or sorted by another value?

I'll give the OP that it sometimes "feels" like  your getting the same map over and over, but if you do save your replays, you may well find your not getting it as much as you think you are.

I understand the OP point, to some extent. Some nights it seems that I get the same 4/5 maps all night, with 1, maybe 2 different maps sprinkled in. I have not gone so far as to try to prove this in anyway.

With that said, I believe the map rotation works on a server rotation, not a player rotation. So as the server is creating the battles, the maps are being rotated evenly, and probably with some kind of order. The factors that MM doesn't control are, who clicks Battle and when. So it's possible that if you click battle on a regular time basis that you are going to always fall into the same rotation pattern of the battles being created, therefore seeing the same few maps over and over again (or at least more often).

What helps to break this pattern is to take a break every couple of games, and take different lengths of breaks. Don't take a normal battle break or you'll never break the cycle. Also, playing different tank tiers and types sometime helps to break the cycle. It doesn't always work, but it might.

Ok, I've never heard about the map groups until now. I've seen countless threads on this topic and nothing about map groups.
Now I know.
/thread.

It is non-random.  The grouping theory in anecdotal, perhaps backed up by some dev comments, but there have been studies showing that certain maps come up more than others, for example, Ensk is more than twice as likely as Westfield.  I believe the devs stated this was because the maps that use less server resources get put up more.

Date / time played. Most recent ones towards the top / left.

I agree. I bought a Super Pershing and purchased all 3 seasons camo. It took literally over 30 matches in 2 days to get a map other than summer map. Now i do realize there are more summer maps then others. The game needs more maps, something I think we all agree on.
