I'm new here and I do play a fair amount of arty. I do think some changes should be made. Here's my lists of changes:

Increase view range - With this, we should have the arty, like all the other tanks, only see tanks within their view range. Instead of being able to see across the map in god mode. Therefore, all tanks outside the view range would be a challenge (making it like CB except with general location provided on minimap through radio), especially for those who don't move from their spawn.

Change shell mechanics - The idea here is, instead of one shell, we make 8 shells landing. The new individual shells will only be 1/8 th of the original shell's damage. Therefore, arty will be hitting an area instead of one single point. Each of the shells have their own splash radius. There's no way any tank can take the full damage, though they will, in the worse case scenario, get penned by a few and receive splash from the rest.

Larger reticle - The reticle will be tripled/quadrupled in size so that the area that arty can hit is now the size as their original fully aimed reticle. For the higher tiered arties, this means that their 8 shells now cover a larger area and doing their full alpha damage just isn't possible.

I think these changes will make arty a lot challenging as they need to reposition a lot more. Plus, there's a much smaller chance of 1-shotting a tank since they now target area instead a single point. So, what do you think?

The amount of team damage would rise radically with such heinous accuracy.

You don't one shot much of anything but lights once you get up to Tier V and up...They should just add the Pz2000 and 2S19 Msta and see what everyone says when they lob guided shells at 8 rpm up to 25K meters :-)

Wow mad much?

Anyways arty should not be able to one shot but it should keep its accuracy because I dont want to pay a huge fine everytime I play arty.

all i think is that we should be able to choose weather or not we want to play with arty like how we can choose to not play encounter battles. thats just my opinion

lol, Love how everyone has idea on what to do and how to nerf arty. The up coming nerf to arty is a done deal. Make all the posts you want about what you think should be done. In the end it wont matter what you put in this or any other post or what you think as a paying customer or one of the many free (loading) players because W.G. has made up its mind.

This also goes for any other overly played tank that is getting attention by 1000s of players that cant deal or understand how to take them down or keep from getting killed by players more skilled then themselves. Then come here to cry about how they couldnt handle being killed by another tank.

When I first stated playing back durning closed Beta I had made serveral suggestion about making arty abit harder to use and was shot down by devs, mods and the general community at that time saying this is not a total sim game and if they made it harder to play then No One Would Play Them. I had suggested installing a elevation control while it may help a arty player out it in the long run it would take time to be come skilled enough with it make a major impact on the battlefield. This would also take up more time for aiming and also if you elevation setting wasnt high enough buildings and tress could stop your shots.

Funny how the worm has turned and now its all a flipping nerf fest to get them to be less used.

I would like to see a way for Arty to get a resupply of ammo,  maybe go back to base to reload request an ammo upload something for when you run out of ammo we should be able to reload our arty

Wasn't it 1/8 of the power of one shell they have now?
Ya that's maybe a good idea.
