OK, I don't know to how many it happens, and I'm not even sure the word "lag" is right to describe it, but this is how it goes:
FpS quite normal (about 30-35), ping normal (about 40-50), I start driving and suddenly my ping freezes and I can neither stop nor turn, just keep going (lucky if it isn't over a cliff). This lasts for about 6-8 seconds, then the ping becomes "live" again, I can do maneuvers, firing, stopping, turning and so on.
This thing happens only once per battle, usually - so far, I had perhaps 20 battles (for about 20k total) where it happened twice. Never more than that, though.
My point, however, is that over that 6 or 8 seconds my action is "frozen" I often roll out of cover and get hit 2 or 3 times. Really bad when I'm in a dogfight (Type59, T54, T62A) and I just keep going away from my opponent, who happily shoots my side and back.
Specifics of this bug are as follows:
- Unpredictable (never know if and when it will happen; many battles go without it happening at all, then it suddenly happens in 4 battles in a row).
- Ping always freezes during the occurence
- Doesn't depent on the tank type/tier/model
- Doesn't depend on the action in progress (can even happen at a standstill and then I just can't move for the time).
- Doesn't depend on the server performance on a given day (happened on very slow/overloaded server days, happened on "server working perfectly" days)
- Doesn't depend on game version (started happening from the beginning at Beta, and continues since the game went public, throughout all updates)

This needs fixing.

tell me about it.  How would you like 999 ping in your T1E6 when you are fighting an M2 Light?  Happened to me, and next thing i knew, i was dead and we lost.

can't fix lag depends on how far you live from the server

It's lag spikes, make sure you are using wired connection and try not to have a lot of people using the internet at one time.

This may also be from WG's servers.

well ,sometimes i have 200 or less ping, which is good since i'm too far from the sever location, but that green light turns into red and the game freezes sometimes in a very dangerous moment when i'm about to shoot.

I rarely have above 200 ping, and my FPS is around 20-30 and I'm using an Intel Graphic Card, lol.

Almost every match i start with 999 ping, and it either shakes off, ( i do left and right turns and it stops ) or it persists throughout the whole match...If my tank lurches left or right ill know i shook it.

My ping rarely goes above my normal 130'ish,  and when it does, 9 times out of ten it's because someone else in my household starts using the internet as well.

The internet speed and a good computer has a lot to do with it, and for all online games. It's that simple.

I can't play tanks from 7:00 to 8:30 PM for this reason. Only time of the day when WG servers die and it lags every few seconds.

That's a nice story of you and all, but how can we be sure that it's not on your end?

WG has stable servers for the most part. The problem mostly seem to come from the hops to go to their servers. Telia.net has been known to fuck up a lot. Make a tracert command to any website and then to WG servers. Make sure it's the game servers and not the forums or portal website servers.

Well, as I said, it doesn't happen every time in every battle. There can be a week of playing without one occurence, or there can be 20 battles without this lag happening at all, then I would have 3 or 4 battles in a row where it happens at least once, then another dozen battles without this problem. (Yes, to anticipate your question, I can easily play 30 or 40 battles in a day, especially on the weekend).
If we go with your suggestion that it is happening on my end, how would you explain this? My computer suddenly goes wacko on me, then suddenly repairs itself by itself? These little green people who live under the sofa? I thought I was the only one who can see them?  :Smile_Default:
Back to serious, conditions of computer use do not change: 2 computers in use all the time, same kind of use - I mean, nobody suddenly starts downloading 5 TB file or anything like that, on one of them just internet applications, google, yahoo and such like, the other (WoT) computer working fine as I described above, no lag, perfect battle after battle, then suddenly, a battle with lag, and another, and another. Then, 10 more battles without (that's what I meant by unpredictability!).

I think you misread my statement. My point was, can you check it's not on your end? This sounds horribly similar to when my old ISP throttled my bandwidth during peak hours.

Also, post a ping plotter when one happens. If it's not your ISP screwing you over, then it's most probably a hop.

I very rarely experience any lag and so are most players, so the problem has to come either from you or the hops between you and the server. Both situation where WG has little control over.

Yeah, that's why I have ping plots that shows packet drops from their server

Stop playing on weekends.  If you see 30k players online, you're bound to get lag spikes.
