More Closed Maps

A Closed map is essentially any map like Himmelsdorf. No open plains, no giant open areas, buildings everywhere.
We need more of these, more city maps, not like widepark. Moar Urban Combat.
You know you want it.

I would support more closed maps like Himmelsdorf. Most of us prefer variety though. Himmelsdorf is one of our favorite maps (probably because it limits arty), but how many do we really need?

Himmelsdorf is a NIGHTMARE for arty. Most closed maps are.
Except for Soviet arty...

I *demand* more closed maps. (I like that word. Demand)
They are fun and provide me with tons of flanking opportunities without me getting spotted. I get to be a ninja.

I wouldn't mind a few more city maps, somewhere e100/Maus/t110e4's are useful.

This is World of Tanks, not a freakin' generic COD type of game. Tanks were designed to fight on open terranin, where their mobility and firepower can make the difference between victory and defeat.
Similar to an open map where SPGs are way too OP, A city only map could turn the game into a peek-a-boom fest with no strategy where the thickest front armor and the biggest boomstick will be OP.
Maps needs to have a mix of all terrains to allow all tank types to be a factor in battle.

Personally I'd rather see more "traditional" tank warfare maps. That means having the maps more open, since tanks are very vulnerable in cities. Ideally the open maps would have more concealment (bushes and trees) with less cover to encourage movement.

Yes, closed maps with distinct features like huge buildings you can enter, tunnels, collapse bridges, parking lots, alleys and plazas that only small tanks can enter and yes yes...
It would probably be a good idea to develop more destructible structures/buildings so that arty can have a chance or to severely limit an arty's chance of appearing on the map. 15 vs 15 Heavies and meds.

I'm all for this. But then arty has to be given a break. They shouldn't be involved in what I refer to as "No Line of Sight" maps and instead be given maps that are arty wet-dreams, like the Steppes map. In a previous recent post, I recommended scouting be an option to turn off and turn on in game preferences for people that dont want their T4's going against T8's and forced to be scouts. Those that choose to be scouts could be paired with groups of artillery for scout n shoot encounters. Bascially, artillery duels with light scout tanks offering spotter/counter-spotter services. Victory would be other team elimination or all scout designates being eliminated or fifteen minute time-out.

i like the closed in areas. Gives me time to drink a cup of joe, eat my ration of Bacon, and smoke a marlboro or other popular WWII cigarette brand.
