Do players who have had the Type59 or Type62 for a while now have an unfair advantage for this contest? They have crews with some up to four skills/perks ready to drop into a Chinese tank while others who never got the Type59 or Type62 will be starting out with either 50%,75% or 100% crews with no skills or perks.  Seems unfair to me but maybe I'm wrong.

Does it matter??  Should players who spent the money on either/both of those tanks be penalized for having done so??  I don't think so... kudos to them I say... only have the Type 59 myself, got it when they first released them... would have gotten the Type 62 as well but sadly she was only avaiable while I was taking my extended break from the game...

Truth be told, I think you might have a point here. I would disagree with you if the 59 and the 62 had been more available, but seeing as they haven't been I can see where you're coining from.

OP has a point. I still don't care much.

It's unfair.  Remove the tanks from all garages and punish these suckers.  We gotta be fair to everyone.  Fair is fair.  When it isn't its unfair and unacceptable.  Screw em.  Suckers.

Yes, they have a huge advantage. No, I don't think WG will care and/or do anything about it.

Getting a high single game xp score is often more dependent on luck and the right situation, than it is on crew skills.

Plus, those crews will have to be retrained to whichever tank a player would like to use (moving crews without retraining only works when moving a crew to a premium tank, not from.)  So, to do it right, a player would have to spend a decent amount of gold, just to have a chance at the prize.

In short:  Some advantage, but no guarantee.

Agreed

It may not be totally fair, but then again when is this game totally fair?

would you conciser it fair if WG decided that the time you have put into a tank becomes null and void?

So these people that invested into a tank that could not be used to train any crew for any branch don't deserve a leg up after all this time?

hmmm.

Not "some", but a lot.

Yes, people will have to retrain the crew, but even that won't push the crew down more than 15% on just the main skill. Getting that back is the easy part of playing WoT.

Once they get that back all they have to do is play that tank until they get a good match. And they will be facing a bunch of people who are just working on their first or second perk.

We are talking about people with perks that give their tanks better mobility, view range, repair speed and/or overall skill. This is not a small advantage, if it were so nobody will even bother to get perks.

i would like to point out that the tank in the chinese tech tree will be considered chinese. so you cant put a crew from another nation in them.(i think)

that is all.

The main issue is that these tanks were not always up for anyone to obtain, so people who did get it when they could get a real advantage to gain A LOT of gold.

The type 59 was AVAILABLE enough to seriously overpopulate the NA server at one time...so I really dont know what your talking about. Newer players may see them as unavailable, but those of us that have been around for a bit, see that as "Progress"

Besides, I'm pretty certain that the 59 will make a surprise appearance in the gift shop, soon after 8.3 is released...so get your credit card ready.....

So people who have money and a bunch of xp saved up must also have an unfair advantage. I have a good job and over 1 million free / elite xp so I could easily get to the new Chinese Tier 10 medium and/or heavy and start getting xp right away for the 5K gold prize! Better lock free and elite xp from being spent on the new Chinese line as well and stop any such unfairness!

SerB already has been quoted that the Type 59 will not be coming back to the gift shop.
