My tier 4 M8 crew is 4 crew men,two are at 99% and two at 100%. I was looking at the perks and by accident picked the awareness for the radio guy. I didnt do any percentage upgrade yet. Is this a bad perk and can i change it if i have to?

Also, what do you think is best 1st perk for all the crew?

It's a fast TD so snap shot would be nice for the gunner.  Also the driver could make use of alsmot any specialty skill.  How do you like to play the M8?  If you like sniping work on recon and camo.

Well it depends how you want to use your tanks, if it's a derping machine, get stuff not relate to view range/camo. but so you can fire better and not be broken down (tracks).

^brawler

for a mid-range support you may still look into things like repair, but also have view range enhancing perks

BIA is always good aswell

I think you should learn camo for everything for first skill, then switch commander to sixth sense once he reaches 100%.

Well,i basically use it in snipe mode when I'm in tier 5-6 heavy weighted battles. I can't go toe to toe with a higher tier tank. When the battle winds down and we have a kill advantage, i usually hunt down remaining enemy tanks.

One guy in comms laughed at me for sniping with it.It didnt bother me, but i don't have the armor to stand up to high tiers. What is the percieved roll of this tank?

For those that had/have it, how did you use it?

ah, ok Smiley, thanks for the dropping perks info.

I don't understand what a derping machine is or if this tank would/could/should do that. lol

Camo may be way to go possibly.

Used it like a baby hellcat.
100% support tank
let your allies do the scouting while you blast away with the rapid fire 57 mm from behind a bush

Smiley, thats what i do with it. when I'm a top tier and we are tier 3 heavy, it's like utter chaos, lmao. I try  and survive and get some kills in. Lately even other tier 4 and some 5's don't have a clue,it's pretty frustrating.

Given how it's a 3X special going on there's bound to be a slight reduction in the quality of players. It should be back to normal by Tuesday at the latest assuming you don't hit a bad loosing streak

I've been hitting 8-9 game losing streaks daily for the last few days. I was 23 battles under .500, now I'm about 40 under, grrr, I've been around 45-46% probably, which isn't terrible, but before the slide i had just made 47% and now back to 45%.

9-8 W/L today, but going back in now.

The training is for primary skill only, for secondary skills and perks you just have to grind up from 0%.

M8A1, I went Camo all the way for my first pick. To do otherwise will max out your effective camo skill at 75% until you are working on your second Secondary skill.

My experience is that Sixth Sense isn't really all that useful as there is more of a delay on it than the flight time of a shell. I could tell when I was spotted before I was told the gig was up.

Play to the strengths of your vehicle, whatever it may be. In the case of the M8A1, that strength is stealth. Is it worth reducing your stealth by 25% to have something that won't even start working until it hits 100%, and is of marginal use after that? Personally, I say no.

Also, look at this and you will see that the way skills accumulate XP, it doesn't take long to get to 50%, so don't worry about that. However, it takes a long time to get a perk working since they don't do a damn thing at all until you get them to 100% whereas a skill will have a small effect that grows as it gains XP.

If you insist on Sixth Sense, train Camo first and then when your second Secondary skill gets high enough to allow you to retrain and still keep your first Secondary skill at 100% (and thus allow a perk to be active). Otherwise you are gimping yourself for the next few hundred battles for no good reason.

Just my opinion of course, for a TD viewing range is the most important, and specialist skills do the most good early on. So, commander recon, radio op situational awareness, driver either clutch braking for a slow TD or smooth ride for a fast one, gunner snap shot. Any additional crew I get either firefighting or repairs depending on the tank.I run binocs and camo net along with a rammer. I also use the large first aid kit and large repair kit. For the second skill I get camo for all, and when thats high enough I drop the camo net and get the GLD

BIA won't become active for many hundreds of battles then. Better to go with skills until your 2nd secondary is around 30% and then retrain for BIA. That way you'll have something useful for the next 200k XP.

Lots of questionable advice in this thread and this is the best answer by far.  You'll want camo skill in all the US turreted TDs until you get close to the end of the line.  BIA and all the other suggestions are good but that's for the next secondary skill at the earliest.

OP already picked situational awareness or something like that.  It's a decent secondary skill but camo would have been better for now.  If you just started I would drop skills and retrain in camo.

For the record, I use the 57mm gun with rammer, GLD, and either binocs or camo net.  If you have people to spot for you, camo net is more useful.  If you often have to spot for yourself, the M8A1 already has good camo value (with a trained crew especially) and binocs are better.  Both would be nice but aim time bugs me too much on this tank so I use the GLD instead.

that's not the worst part, for each new set of perks/skills, the amount of xp needed to train to 100% doubles.
Edit: I also heard a rumor that they WG is considering removing that feature.
