I am very near the xp to research one or the other.  Even though I own several mediums, i am not the best at using their speed to my advantage.  So, if I'm looking at the specs correctly the jackson seems to be slower but much better armored where the hellcat seems to have surprisingly thin armor but very fast.

Just asking if I am comparing these two correctly, is the biggest difference between the two play style?

I have seen both completely wreak havoc in many battles!

Thanks

Loved the Hellcat, LOVED the T 25/2, and learned to adore the T28 prototype, then I unlocked the T30 and free XP's all the modules.....and promptly rage sold it (first time ever doing that), me and that TD just did not click

From forums polls and such, the end tier turreted TD is the favorite.

Hellcat. Jackson is like the slightly slower cousin. Not always all there.

Love the Hellkitty, she will love you.

When you get it, camo it up as much as you can.

Start match, drive to trees, let the Hellkitty make her nest, kill all.

I played both, and like the Hellcat better and will never sell it. Really it depends on your prefered playstyle though. I like speed as opposed to armor in a sniper vehicle.

I personally love the hellcat, once you learn to tame the desire to drive all over the place really fast you can really own the field  I love using the speed to make the gun work to its full potential, and the gun mantlet is half bouncy as well the good gun depression helps. I have done around 7000 battles and i can say it is probably my favorite tank in the game.

I had a curse with the Hellcat for all bad teams. Good tank, terrible MM.

M18 Hellcat for sure. Make sure you keep her away from front lines and any possible chance of danger.

Hellcat for sure. Just resist the urge to frontline it. Its a better sniper or fire and flank.

The armor the M36 gets over the M18 is negligible. I have played both (M36 has been long gone and have a T28 atm) and am currently using the M18. The speed advantage is much better so you can manouever around the battle more easily.

As many have said about other tanks, with the readily available premium rounds, armour advantage means a lot less now.  Mobility is where it's at.

Which means the Hellcat is the way to go.

Both have a good 90mm cannon, the Hellcat's moblility can help alot dealing damage, you can adjust better to the flow of a battle. The M36 is a good steady TD though and that lower front armour can bounce shots if used right.
Groups of these TD can do alot of damage when fighting tier 6 and 7's. I got lucky in one battle , 3 hellcats and me in my m36 torn apart another team by staying together.

If I'm interpreting your play style correctly, you are not very proficient at using speed as an advantage; therefore I will recommend the Jackson.  It should complement your play style and give you a chance to start learning to how to use speed.  Having the more armored Jackson at your disposal will help increase your chance of survival while giving you a chance to recover from your miscues.  I owned the HellCat and had one of my highest games in both XP and kills.  It took me a few matches to get used to it and adapt a play style for it.  While playing it I would sit back and play defense and protect arty for the first half of battle, then I would go out and release havoc on the enemy.   I allowed my team's heavies to soften up the enemy first.  This would allow me to get a lot of one shot kills.  The key is to use your speed and to always shoot and scoot.  Get to good covered firing positions into the enemies flanks and fire a round then use your speed to move to another location and repeat.  Sometimes I would also use it as a scout for the arty in the second half of battle.  Playing like this can also be applied to the Jackson.

With either of these tanks, do not play them like you would a medium tank. Play them as if you have NO armor, stay hidden (your only defense) and, ideally, behind your teammates. A TD with a turret is great because moving/pivoting your hull to face an enemy can negate your concealment. That said, turret rotation is extremely slow so you need to plan ahead.

I posted a hellcat vs jackson post a few months back. you can find tons of info on both of them to beable to pick which is better for you. If you can find it it should help answer your question. Also for the players that are wondering when I'll post my perk/skill sugestion list i'm workign on it and will try to get it up as soon as I collect enough data. :Smile_glasses:

Well i have both man and i can tell you the extra armor on the Jackson won't help you that much. I rarely bounced anything with it.ROFL but once i bounced a Bl-9 shot from a is-3 with my hellcat. The speed of the Hellcat is good but it takes some time for the thing to reach 72. It turns really slowly. The turret traverse is shitty and you cant circle enemies. I would say get the Hellcat that speed helps a lot at times and it has a smaller silhouette
P.S The Hellcat is also sexier
P.P.S Also i am playing the Grille now and i can tell u that the hellcat gets ! shoted by me many times. Those 13mm of armor and that open top don't help at all. But the Jackson has almost the same problem. So does the T-25/2

What people have said is pretty much correct.  I have both and like both.  The mobility of the Hellcat can be important.  The armor of the Jackson truly is better (though you still can't count on it) and the poor mobility sometimes lets you down.  The Hellcat is more fun for me but I have a better win rate in the Jackson.  Can't go wrong either way.

Actually since they updated the Slugger to a Jackson, I went back and bought it again for some special they had going on. I honestly like it more than a hellcat. Hellcat is so fast it gets you into trouble.
