Howdy Tankers!

It's the end of February and that means it's time for this year's Black Tom MVP!  We have some amazing prizes from Logitech Gaming.

You can see the article here for more information.

You may submit up to one battle per category to increase your chances of winning! If you submit more than one battle in one day in one category, only your first submission will count!  You may not use the same entry for both Hardcore and Casua

This part confusing me :/

So, I can't put more than 1 battle per e-mail and 1 e-mail a day?

So we can't use battles that happened like months ago - we can only use the ones that happened between the 25th and 31st? And what if you have 4 medals? Do you add all four or just the three highest earning medals?

I'm sure I'm foolishly missing something, but I don't see the date anywhere in the garage popup from my last battle.  What am I missing?

So I am trying to understand the achievements. If I have a battle where I spot 3 tanks, 2 damaged tanks and the Sniper award, that counts as three achievements? And if so, when i calculate the extra points for them do I get 1 point for detecting tanks or 1 point for each tank detected? Same question for damaged vehicles.

Lastly, do I add the points from the achievements to my xp total after I calculate the xp?

So this time, all entries are taken over the whole contest period and theres just a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winner for casual and hardcore, for each tier class? 18 winning entries?

You (or another mod) mentioned before that the `art of war contest` was a test of a new ability of WG for that kind of special, any idea when we will see another contest like it?

(Edit, Never mind...found the other thread)

"If you submit more than one battle in one day in one category, only your first submission will count!"

So we're allowed to submit once per day, or what?

This needs a lot of clarification.

Questions:

1) Can you submit one entry for both casual and hardcore and in each tier category (for a total of 6 entries) or is each day a different competition like last year (42 max entries)?

2) What's the actual scoring rubric for both casual and hardcore?  most XP like last year's casual category or most MVP points, or hybrid (like last year's hardcore)?
2a)How do we combine the MVP points and XP score for the hardcore category?

3) How do the prizes work?  Do both casual and hardcore winners get the physical goods, but only hardcore winners get the additional gold?

4) How will winners in multiple categories be handled?

Why not just do the screenshot in a post system like last year?  I think a lot of people liked that system, and ppl don't have to worry about their emails being lost.  And for the love of god, why do these start the instant they're announced when every time we have to get repeated clarifications?  Glad to see the black tom mvp return.

Do you need to survive in order to qualify? Know they had that in most MVP contests but I didn't see if lists in the rules.

You DQed me last year for submitting a battle on a different day than it was played. The battle was played within and submitted within the timeline for the contests and would have netted me second place. I felt it was disgustingly unfair of you to do so considering you never listed it as a rule and couldn't explain to me how anyone could possibly have known about your unspoken rule. In fact, after your disconcertingly generic e-mail you and Gaea simply ignored me... thanks for that.

So if that's once again going to be a "rule", maybe you should list it in the contest rules.

WG as usual doesn't explain some basics.
1) Can you enroll in both casual and hardcore?
2) Can you enroll into all 3 tier sections?
3) can you combine 1 and 2 together, thus enrolling into 6 sections? Can you do it with the same games?

Also, do achievements hold no value for the casual section? So causal winners will be decided by simply who got most XP?

Major_Rampage,
You forgot to include the very important section of how to figure out XP.  From last years post, that is:

"To calculate your XP:

If you have a premium account: Total XP/15 = XP points.

If you have a standard account: total XP earned/10 = XP points

Remember to divide by 2 if you earn double XP."

Don't mind me.

Last year it specified it was for each day.  I assume it is the same for this year, but can't find where it specifically says it.

Thank you for sharing your lesson learned from last year.  Daily contests are daily.  They get 100s of entries a day.  Anyone would be hard pressed to sort through six days worth to be sure they have the dates right.

It is in the little pop up window in the lower right.  It conveniently lists the achievements too.  Make sure that is up when you take your screen shot.

As it was for the last I would say:

1) yes
2) yes
3) yes

And yes, casual is just raw XP.

It does says you can send battles to both casual and hardcore and to all categories. You just cant use the same battle for casual and hardcore.

We are making the article more clear.  You are allowed to submit one battle per each of the 3 tier groups,  and in both categories.

Victory!
Battle: Port Friday, January 25, 2013 1:16:20 PM

This is my last battle pop up.

Spotted and Damaged Tanks do not count as an achievement.  You get 1 point each tank that you spot.  And you add those MVP to your EXP score after you have adjusted it by diviiding by 10 or 15.

One entry per tier group,  in both hardcore and casual.  You can not enter the same game in both the hardcore and casual categories.

1) 6 entries total please see above
2) Casual is the most XP,  Hardcore is the great value when you XP score and MVP points are combined..
2a)  Get your final Xp score (divided by 10 or 15 depending if you have a premium account or not),  and then add your MVP points to that.
3) Exactly
4) You can win in multiple categories,  and get the prizes in multiple categories.

The rules have be update to reflect that you do indeed need to play your battles during the dates of the event.
