New to heavy tanks (and game in general), but wanted to ask how you play your heavy when you are bottom tier. I typically do very well with my T1HT, but struggle with a productive playstyle when faced with a match of all T6s and T7s. Without mobility/speed to flank reliably and relatively low HP my overall contributions to the team seem meager. So far I have had the best luck hanging back and trying to knockout scouts that slip through the front lines before pushing towards the weakest flank.

What works best for you?

I tend to support or defend

Try a guerilla-like warfare if you are the underdog. Strike from where they least expect it, but play defensively.

Hope you dont die too soon, follow a t29 around, if you have multiple arties defend them.

The problem is the T1.

It has the profile of a school bus, is slow, and has soft sides and rear.

Attack preferentially distracted targets and try to stay alive. You might get to pump a few rounds into an arty at the end if you're winning.

As said above, support. Fight with a group. Even if you don't do physical damage, you can do physcological damage. Having lots of shots bouncing at you can be scary.

sit still for a good minute at spawn, and look at the map.  it'll tell you what to do.

if that doesn't work, make me a sammich after your tank blows up.
