By simply coming to the forums before 100 games, you've already managed to be smarter than the average... duck... so this would be quite the information gold mine for you.

Keep tanking, and make sure to join a reserve clan ASAP. They'll teach you things like tactics, and get you platooning early on.

I'm coming up on the 1 month anniversary and was wondering: What's the average and best time-in-game to earn a heavy?  I'm not talking about the "5-minute, 'Mom, can you buy me a tank in this really cool game' and now he's a one shot wonder type of "players".  I mean how long does it take EARN a heavy?  I just got a tier 6 medium and like it for the hybrid medium/heavy qualitites.  Speed, turret rotation, armor and damage are all good w/o being really deficient anywhere.  But if I try go w/ the Tiger, I'm just curios how long it took others to get there.

Uh no idea. Without a T8 prem to earn you the creds, it took me about... two months? three? I forget, but I did free exp the last bit to my Tiger, and had my Lowe by that point.

I mean, you can earn a 'heavy' and get a B1 in about 50 games? :P

EDIT: Updated OP for more accurate 8.6 info. And removed some of the SEA/ASIA stuff.

After a couple of weeks, I have been called an idiot more than my fair share of times. Name-calling is a sign of immaturity or of lack of control of the ego - maybe both.

I enjoy this game tremendously, but the learning curve is straight up and down at the beginning.

Now, when someone starts the name-calling, i just say "Well, F*** em" and go on. I guess no one else thinks anything of it, but I know a lot of people who would never come back when treated this way by their fellow players.

Is their any discipline for name-calling?

No, I am not a wuss. But the game is made less enjoyable by this behavior.

Thanks. I need to update some more crap but I can't figure out which FAQ is the more updated- the ASIA one or the NA one. I'll have to re-read it later and fix more stuff.

It's done by battles actually. You need like, 20 or 100 or something to post in the other sections.

Why the heck is this "battles" indicator sticking me at 0 when I've got over 10000 under my belt?  For that matter, why does it show 0 for everyone?
Edit: Disregard, please delete.

1/. I am quite new here - have read this thread, all of it - many questions have been answered - I thank you.

2/. I have made some mistakes already in the last couple weeks - has it been that long? -
I shot up a friendly tank as I was sure he was outlined in red - must have been seeing 'floaties' in my old eyeballs.   I've also had full auto rounds hit friendlys who were close to the target enemy I was spraying- they cost me points or money or whatever.  Also, I've had two different Tier 1 or 11 tanks drive between me (into my line of fire) and the enemy as I was shooting auto rounds from a T-2 or M2 at an enemy and for those errors, I am truely sorry.  It happens.

3/. I thought if I remained still, I'd disappear - just as I see other tanks doing.  It didn't work, a tank still drove up and shot me, although my turret was locked and had been dead still for at least one minute - totally out of sight of everyone for that time - then he drove straight up and POW! Guess I wasn't invisible after all.  The 'gold' for the camo seems to have been a waste of money -unless I'm missing something- any explaination?

4/.  The 'invisible' tanks driving around are quite puzzling - usually tier 5 and 6 tank destroyers - appear only after they've shot you - no bushes.

5/.  I've seen bare tanks pull up into a 'base' zone by the flag, then promptly disappear, then reappear if he moves his turret.  Why don't my tanks disappear when I'm stationary?

6/. I have a bunch of equipment in my Depot that seems to be impossible for me to apply to a tank.  I have not seen any buttons to click on to allow transferring them from the depot to a tank they are suited for.  Please advise.

thanks

QUOTE:
Why do people buy premium tanks?premium tanks earn more XP and credits than other tanks. They can also train crews that can be placed in the same nation's class of tank (as in, an IS-6 can train a Russian heavy tank for no downside, but not a T62-A crew). This makes them very valuable for supporting higher tier tanks and buying higher tier tanks. premium tanks are not pay to win tanks, since they are worse than elite tanks of the same tier, and have a major flaw to make up for their massive credit earnings.
END QUOTE.
OK, I guess I am missing something very basic. I have one premium tank, a German PZ.Kmpf. S35 739(f) medium, which has a 100% crew with about 90% of 1st Skill.I bought a German Medium VK 20.01D to check out the crew transfer. I moved my Premium crew to the barracks, and when I tried to load the Premium crew into the VK 20.01D, it said that theywere not trained for this tank and must be retrained. This seems to be a direct contradiction of what is posted above, and what is otherwise stated in various places. Obviously, there is another answer. So,what am I missing here??

yes, it's the other way around: you can take your crew _from_ your non-prem tank (VK 20.01 D in your case) and put them _in_ the premium tank (S35), then play with the S35 for a while, until you have boosted the crew to the desired level (or you did the daily x2), and put them back in your VK 20.01 D. This way, your VK crew got more experienced with the tank even though you did not play a single game with your 20.01 D.

Hello,
I'm a newbie. What tank line should I pursue?  I'm a standard member with limited garage space. I don't want to waste my time and resources going up a tank line and finding out I hate it and it's not my play style. Looking for:
1.) Mobility - I like to cover most of the map.
2.) Gun - (a) Accuracy - I like to snipe in the beginning, and shoot on the move.
   (b) Good Alpha damage - No explanation needed.
© ROF - Tanks I'm currently playing are great. I've researched higher tiers and find the ROF sucks.
3.) Armour -Least on my list. The tanks I'm currently playing are a 1 to 3 hit wonder, (Like: I wonder why he used cardboard instead of metal.) I find just avoiding getting hit usually works and tanks with good frontal armor I'm able to destroy by hitting their sides or back.
Any GOOD suggestion would be helpful and if there's any other things I should consider, besides the above mention.
Thanks,
newbie

Good info.  I am new to this game, but I'm not a kid by a long shot.  Some of the bullying/taunting from more experienced players certainly diminishes the experience somewhat.  Those players should understand that WoT needs new players if it is going to survive.  Running off new players serves no purpose.

Another thing I find a little frustrating is the automatic penalty for friendly fire.  I understand why it's in place, but it's a little irritating when you are engaged in a firefight and one of your teammates drives right in front of your guns.  Obviously there should be penalties for intentionally shooting a teammate, but like in real battle, sometimes "stuff" happens.  I have screwed up and shot a teammate, and when I did so I apologized (he was gracious about it), but it stinks when you get penalized because someone is careless and not being a team player.

Enough ranting.  Thanks for the info.  It was very helpful and answered a lot of my questions.

No too sure where to post this - - - - - -
but when i do a research upgrade it should tell me what the increase is compared to my current equipment, maybe something like World of warcraft with the numbers side by side - old and new.
