Thinking through this, even if someone were to be able to secure the 15k per day allowing a 2000G +/-  weekly payout to their clan, each member would be forced to train/retrain crews through tiers 6, 8 and then back to 10. There's no way to make gold at this. I play clan wars for gold, therefore....

I'm seriously considering staying off the map until it reverts to tier 10, if nothing else, as a demonstration to people on how one takes land, and establishes a homeland in occupied territories.

What's everyone else thinking here?

The point is moot, you can't continue to take land in a new event area if you are in, say, the American SE.  Just pick the tier you need and stay with it.

You already have a lot of land, and most likely will keep most of it.  Why bother taking land elsewhere when you will make 16k gold a day?

I'm thinking this tier 3 event is retarded and is an insult to the time and money I spent grinding out my 10s.

Honestly, OK with us. One less uber-clan to deal with initially, so we can take our landing zone, hold it for a day, and then be pushed off by someone better (read: most other active CW clans).

In all seriousness, we obviously play for different reasons than do you Yankee. You and your clan are in this for the fight, for the gold, for the bragging rights, for the hard-core every-night gaming. We are ONLY in this for the fighting, and that on weekends only. So ... different perspectives ==> different goals and ideas.

We don't own any land.

Looks like they are trying to render tier 10 completely pointless: They are no fun in pubs with the 5 a side point and clicks, and now they dont have a place in clan wars.

As not usually significant as GSA, is we won't participate in the tier 3s, and as long as there is Europe for tens, won't in the other events. Without Europe though, we would likely suffer from activity issues with not participating in CW for a while, and would likely start playing at the 6s just so our active members stay very active.

I didn't grind out all my tier 10's for nothing.  I'm gonna let some junior members play the lower tiers except maybe the tier 8's until they unlock the regular top tiers.  By the time the tier 10's come back active the map will be ready to see some of the regular CW contenders come back to the map to romp.  Until then its War Thunder for me to stay busy.

hmm fine by me Yankee.  More time to level more in the next game, since this one is dying fast.

We're considering the same.  Just humping it out in Europe until the NA map is all that is left.  Then storming across the continent.  The trail of tears will have new meaning.  Of the pubbie variety.

i'm feeling the same way about it. I know I can't afford 100% retraining several times over.

would be funny to have all the legitimate clans grab all the landing zones then sit on them and not expand for the entire month so all the land was available but being unused. or give it to one clan so they had the entire continent just to piss off the pubbie trash.

Well, I am thinking that no one here has a right to complain mainly because the game is free.

WG insulting their own endgame.   Opening themselves up to endless more motivated whiners who now think they can work the system because they worked it this time.  I've always been proud of this Dev team really, Small and proud of what they have done....    They made plenty of mistakes,  sure. But this game had come a long way. But now?  What is the point of having an endgame that doesn't encourage the player base to be as prepared, skilled, and Uber-Equipped as is possible?   Shunning the most dedicated of their player base in lieu of hit & run baddies, who will be off to their next game as soon as knocked off the map later?  Could you even imagine the uproar if they attempted this on the Russian server?   To me it shows what they think of this one?  I have spent countless hours and literally hundreds of dollars preparing for end tier clan wars only to sit and compete with baby pew-pews that are ground with free accounts,(if we could use that word?) for the most significant event in Clan Wars that this server has had?  All knowing from the last failed start and the thrown together tourney that these whiners are almost entirely not competitive and unprepared?  Just opening themselves to tons more flack from them when they fail so hard (we all know it's coming...even they do)  This is what the Dev team had in mind? Rails have been left somewhere here? IMO....   This whole experiment has failed.

Eeee, am I the only one that's OK with a little variety?  I've got a garage full of T10 tanks and T8 arty, but personally, I had a blast in the T3 competition.  We didn't make it onto the map in the first round but we were all ready for some T3 nonsense for a week or so.  Yes it was silly, but silly can be fun for a while.

But then again, I run all sorts of weird tanks for fun pretty much all the time.  Staying off the map while it's a low tier tourney has nothing to do with defending the honor of your T10 tanks.  I think it's somewhere between pouting and snobbery.  Everyone knows the maps will got to full tiers in due course, so why not have some fun in the meantime?  This just doesn't strike me as that big a deal.

Just a different mindset between you and me.  I've done both the "high gold no effort" and the "high effort no gold." in CWs.  I, personally, have more fun doing the latter.  I can buy the gold, but not the challenge.

there is no high gold no effort, that is a myth
