population of heavy tanks is excessive

HenanVolkswagen's Photo HenanVolkswagen Feb 05 2013

I am currently on tier 7 going to the tier 8 with a T29 and simply see fewer tanks of other classes. Honestly, I do not feel the desire to evolve as I am that tank because the games become increasingly repetitive and less diversity strategy. As much as we say that heavy tanks are balanced with other classes I just do not see it on the battlefield and with rare exceptions the main killers of matches in which I participate are always heavy tanks (arty is also very strong in certain maps). However, many already realized the ease of play of heavy tanks and they are now much more used than any other class and it walks me through leaving upset because now leaves the WOW precisely of the imbalance of classes in PVP.

This week holds event for tier 7 heavy tanks, hence increased amount of them.

Heavy tanks are not considered "Easy to play". They take as much skill as every other tank in the game.

Heavy tanks are not imbalanced, you just haven't figured out how to counter them yet.

There is no imbalance with heavy tanks. Anyone that plays a heavy tank because they are "easier" to play than other tanks is going to get eaten alive by those other tanks because they haven't learned that they all require skill to play, they are just different skills.

How are heavy tanks not balanced with other classes?

Actually I have ease in defeating other tanks that are not heavy ...

You've never tried to drive a T-150 into battle at Tier 8, have you?

Heavy tanks have a strategy just like any other tank in the game.  I am reminded of this every time I see a Churchill hiding behind artillery at the base, or a KV-1 trying to use the longest route on the map.

But they're such easy targets to snipe at:  big, slow, full of health.

Simple, it's called 'small tank' syndrome.  :Smile_veryhappy:

Heavy tanks are expensive and difficult to play.  The easiest one I've seen is the T57 - played it on the test server, but it will be several months before I can grind enough to get it.

Took me 150 battles to learn how to sidescrape properly in the E100 - still not easy 'cause it is an arty magnet.

Every other heavy I've played has its strengths and weaknesses. The T29 is one of the easier heavies to play, not sure why you are complaining about that tank.

...in the meanwhile, I totally fail in medium tanks and TDs.

Also, the special is on in the range of Tier 7...I'm seeing so many T29s in my Black Prince today...many more than other ones that were affected by this event.

So op is upset he's not the only one driving a heavy? And Artie hate tossed In on top? Talk about entitlement issues

heavy tanks are easy, most people don't want to put effort into the game, so they go with the easiest class: the heavies (or arty if they're *really* lazy)

heavy tanks also have the biggest cool numbers: guns and armor. Tank Destroyers do too, but they're complicated to play well.

heavy tank go boom, me like boom

It's World of Tanks, not World of Mario Karts. It's not a matter them being easy, it's just that I already have a copy of Crazy Taxi and don't need to buy it again.

Why not try out an artillery line to play? If one's seeing an excess of enemy heavy tanks repeatedly, why not weed them out with artillery fire after your teammates have spotted them? Your own team's excess amount of heavies, should enjoy having artillery support....

Simple fact is, unless you like arty fests, higher tier tanks are a waste of time other than for clan wars.

The NA Server statistics even show that less than 5% of tier 10's are played.  Meaning a good 90+% leave them in the garage.

Why is that?  If you guessed OP artillery then you would have guessed right.

So now you find many players trolling the noobs at level 1-3.

If a person didn't care about clan wars, I would tell them to stop grinding after tier 5,

hey man there aren't really any tanks in the game where you'd play 'em like mario kart except maybe tier 1 and 2

medium tanks in the higher tiers are pretty cerebral and so are light tanks. They aren't "gotta go fast" they're "gotta think smart" because they don't have tough armor. A heavy tank can take a hit or two, a light can't.

Why? Tiers 6,7 and 8 are so much more interesting than 5.
