Confirmed: Fog of war will come

Kingkrieg's Photo Kingkrieg Feb 05 2013

Hello!

this just came from WoT ru Forums by WoT dev. Storm:

Quote

Мы на 8.5 будем реализовывать туман войны очень скоро в игре в ответ на людей, сват несправедливо. когда битва закончилась, вы сможете увидеть всю команду для обеих сторон по
докладу экрана.

Let me translate for you:

By patch 8.5 we will implement fog of war pretty soon in the game, in response of people who think Matchmaker is unfair.  when the battle is over, you will be able see the whole team for both sides on the damage report screen.

---------

there ya go, this may render XVM mods kind of useless now that you wont be able to see the enemy paired on the matching screen, and while you re driving your 59 16 happily though corners suddenly an evil e-75 pops up and sends your turret 50m into the air

i aprove!

I'm all for it. Should make the game more exciting. I also see suiscoiting becoming more prevalent sadly though

JUST IN: suiscouts become a bit more useful.

Doesn't render XVM useless.  CW has had Fog of War for ages and XVM works fine there.  In addition, its nice knowing your team mate's stats so you know whom you can rely on and who is a lemming.

Well there's a good fix to any perceived or real problems with MM.. Just hide them!

Not sure if that will happen.....

I'm not sure if that's a good thing if they'll become more useful (be able to break FoW early on by running into entire team, etc.) or a bad thing (as there will undoubtedly be more of them).

well, considering the fog of war in pubs will work just as clan wars.. just consider that youll have your same paired team in tank but in the opposite side

It would suck to go around a corner and find out they have 10 TD's. :Smile_sceptic:

Pointless idea for pub matches and will only negatively effect gameplay.

People are to scarred to advance when they know the enemy composition, there is no way that people will advance when they don't know it. I foresee lots of Draws if this were to be implemented.

I am all for this.  However, I hope they don't go overboard and implement it for training rooms as well.  Depending on what you're trying to do in those rooms, knowing the rosters of either/both teams cam be very important.

Well those who think MM is broken will just think of this as a way to hide how broken it is until afterthe match.

Personally I don't know...this could be interesting.

If true, then I think this is a bad move by WG.
Pubs is random enough as it is. At least by knowing what each side has lets a player make an informed decision as what he should do.

My guess is increase in suicide scouting and camping.
