[Edit: Location selected.

http://www.tackyjack...ship-parkway-al]

Tankers, we're on the road, and stopping off in Mobile, AL We could do with some local guides to help us integrate into the local nightlife, or at least just keep us company for a few hours in the evening.

So:

There will be a meet and greet, on the evening of Friday 22 FEB 2013, about 20:00
A few WGA personnel will be there
The intent will be just to sit around together and have a chat.

Here's what we don't know, and where, as we've done before, you guys come in:
Where exactly it will be
How many people will be there.
So, if you're interested in attending here's what you do:

Reply below and clearly state if you intend to attend, and if you're bringing a friend or two.

This will give us an idea of how many people the place will need to accommodate. If you're under-21, please also tell us. (If nobody's under 21, it makes it easier to find a place).

If you have any suggestions on a place to meet, please state it below. It's your town, you know it better than we do. Here are the requirements:

Must be able to hear ourselves think. If we're going to be talking and answering your questions, we can't have a live rock band playing in the room. Or a German Oom-pah band, as happened in Fort Worth. Kareoke is also out.
Should be under-21 friendly. If we have to abandon this, so be it, but it is a preference.

Somewhere within staggering distance of the Historic District will be nice.

We will return to this thread in a week or so, do the headcount, review the suggestions, and then post up where to meet.

I will be attending, I'm under the age of 21, and I'm 15! I can come without parents, and I'm able to buy my own food, and other stuff. Thanks, and hope I can have some fun!

Oh, me being underaged it kinda makes it harder, because you cant just show up to bars, but I'm very mature, and I'm able to show up regardless if you guys drink alchohol or not.

Mobile...
only an hours drive away...
I'll make it.
in Mobile, check out battleship park... USS Alabama and the Drum submarine...
Pensacola is an hour away.  Home of NAS Pensacola, The Blue angels, and The National Aviation Museum...
The museum is top nothc, not quite tanks, but it's that good otherwise...

For decent food near downtown, there is The Original Oysterhouse, which has good food, midrange pricing, all ages, and can accomadate a group allowing them to be able to hold conversations.  But, be ready to pay about $20-30 a head for a decent meal, and it's on the Causway, which is a 5 minute drive to historic downtown, but not 'stumbling distance'.

Me, I'm a Mobile resident who would be happy to attend, and will only be whinig about Mobile not appearing on the Clan Wars map. ;)

Also, like RevJEnkins said, Pensacola is an hour away and has a TON of history two.  You could possibly plan seeing the Blue Angels fly, at the least a museum tour.  AMAZING museum there.  I'm stationed nearby and I know several tanks players are stationed here too.  I know the bar/restaurant scene better there too.

I'm a ways away in Jackson, MS, but depending on how many people are going and what all is happening I'll consider it!

If i can get something free (like a t-shirt :P ), ill see if i could make the 1 1/2 hour drive. The battleship park does have a room (a cafeteria, i think) that can hold a decent sized group, but i dont know if they are open at 8:00.

Naval Air Museum - Pensacola, FL - must see (one of the largest)
Naval Battle Ship Park in Mobile (also includes aircraft and tracked vehicles)

If you have time, approximately 2 hrs from Mobile is Camp Shelby just south of Hattiesburg, MS with numerous tracked vehicles (WW2 to modern).  see link:  http://www.armedforc...es/AboutUs.html

btw:  you also have the WW2 museum in New Orleans!

Chieftain:

I live in Birmingham, and am bringing a buddy who also plays.  You've got TP Crockmeier's, and Heroes which are both downtown and cater beverages.
There are several good seafood shops - Original Oyster House is one, and you also have Wintzell's downtown.  Just let me know the final word, and we'll see you on the 22nd.

How about Lu Lu' in Gulf Shores...a nice midway place to eat, family friendly, and not too far from Pensacola or Mobile. Lu Lu is Jimmy Buffets sister and it is the place that Taylor Hicks Grandmother watched American Idol from. Just a thought. I would attend and am well over 21 lol!

I'll be there representing Sturmgrenadier. If you are up for some adult entertainment, Biloxi, Ms is only about 45 minutes down the road and is loaded with casinos. Along those same lines, if anyone would like to ride with me from the MS gulf coast, send me a PM. Can't wait to meet some fellow tankers.

My girlfriend and I will attend.  Original Oyster House on the causeway sounds like a great place to meet.  Since we are both in a clan and enjoy the game we would be happy to meet others who enjoy and the game as much as we do.
