[Nithydux]

At the beginning of this game I shoot an SU-8 at the base of the gun. Nothing Happens. Literally. he Claims No gun Damage. He even says it bounced.

A Type 59 says that External Modules absorb all damage.

So my Question is, Is this true for the gun? On Arty? I mean seriously, This Is  a Crap Mechanic if it is True.

In Reality a Shell hitting that spot on Artillery Would have Completely Destroyed the gun. I know pulling the Reality card is bad, But REALLY.

RNG, spaced armor, and/or bad luck combined. The game hates you sometimes.

My gun gets hit all the time in arty. I take no damage. Chances are that happened. Or you got really, really unlucky and bounced normally... Didn't watch the replay.

Generally, external modules can take 100% damage (which is why shells often get eaten by tracks), but sometimes you can shoot through these and hit the vehicle itself. As far as i'm concerned, the gun is one of if not the hardest module to do this.

The game can go crazy. Were u lagging at the time? and u should be able too pen any arty in game with tier 3 gun and up, did it with pz38na once on teir 5-6 arty. Sometimes there r flukes.

I didn't watch, but external module hit boxes are really messed up in this game. I've done similar things to arty a lot. Especially the short ones like the French tier 5 or the M41.

Okay, seems like you hit the SHIELD rather than the gun or the gun mount itself. I looked at the flight of the shell from free camera mode.

I once had the opportunity of ending the game with a win by killing the last camping ST1 in the enemy team, my team had 3 artys remaining and I go off to scout him, I spot him, unfortunately hes right behind me, I turn and fire, point blank with the top gun of the Lor 155-51 and I 'BOUNCE', I quickly run to hide beind a building while a GW knocks his hp down, I reload and again try my luck from his rear end, point blank, 'BOUNCE'.............game ends in draw...........I quit for the day pulling my hair out......................sometimes the RNG in this game leads to terribly pathetic situations.

A example everyone can relate to is when a Tier 9 TD, say a Object 704 fires at the last medium tank only to see him get to 1%hp and then gets circled to death.

I have experienced that so many fn times it is pathetic.

i almost got steel wall in my M7 priest once. the other team was screaming hax the entire time. (bounced i think seven total)

The reason why sometimes you hit the gun or another module and dont do any damage is because 1. like stated by the type, external modules do absorb damage. 2. if you hit a module theres only a chance it will actually damage it. If you read the newcomers guide, everything has a chance of damage if hit.
gun=33%
tracks=100%
ammo rack=33%
crew=10%(33% if hit by gold ammo)
everything else=either 33% or 50%

hmmm...it looks like there's a small hole at the bottom of the gun of the Su-8's model which opens up in the back?

If not then at least the gun should have been destroyed and yes it would be bs.

Oddly enough, also in a SU-8, I've had shots that seemed to miss me clean and go high, but seem to have taken a crew member's head off in passing ... weird things happen, and some of the hitboxes are a little weird, as mentioned by UglyGosling, but as long as it's an oddity that you only see every couple-hundred battles or more I don't sweat it.

hey...you also jerked the gun up when you fired...dont know if that had anything to do with it...my old eyes I have the minimap 4times that size...lol
