In this post, I decided to get around to reading it for once and all.

http://forum.worldof...ouflage-tables/

It shows some absurd things.

For you see, I decided to compare the panther and tigers to easy eight and jumbos. They're similar in size right? Well M4 is also similar but WG hit the M4 with shrink ray so it's dismissed for time being.

Numbers in order is stationary to in motion and finally firing.

7       PzKpfw V Panther        7,5                     2,5                     1,85

8       Panther II              7,5                     2,5                     1,78

To american tanks

6       M4A3E8                  12,5                    7,5                     3,12

6       M4A3E2                  12,5                    7,5                     3,12

And this isn't even mentioning how tanks of same size as jumbos and easy eights gets hosed.

7       PzKpfw VI Tiger         7                       2,5                     1,59

see?

But on further analysis it seems like WG arbitrarily decided that heavys will just get half of the camo values that mediums get and went with it.

Similar american heavys suffer the same fate.

7       T29                     6                       1                       1,27

6       M6                      7                       1,5                     1,72

But doesn't explain the panther anomaly to me.

Is there someone out there knowledgeable can explain it to me?

I did not look at russians and uk and chinese and french tables because I barely play those trees and is very unfamiliar to me.

And to beat the russian bias posters to the punch.

Russian bias! >.>

Camo base values take into consideration engine noise. It some coefficient based on teir and hp. Good luck figuring that coefficient out.

Edit. 1/3 2/3 or full power has a small effect too.

Game balance (and WG decides about it) > logic.

If you need to change the camouflage also change the HP. I want my Hellcat over 700-800 HP now.

Game balance / developer fiat. Chinese / Russian and yes, French tanks tend to have the highest camo values.

That being said, there is a bare semblance of consistency to their chosen balance method -- the IS-6 in actuality is a very short tank but still gets abysmal camo.
