In real life T-34s would go full speed and ram Tigers to disable them.

Learn to spell, your grammar is bad to. I think ramming damage is fine the way it is.

I love ramming. And yes, in real life it was a tactic used at times. Also, trying to read that made my brain hurt.

Why does this game have ramming damage? It's not a demolition derby, but a lot of players seem to think so. It takes away from the shooting tactics, cover, and other content of the game. Isn't tanks about shooting and strategy, not ramming into each other? It's being used way too much. Please do something about it, it really takes away from good gameplay and real tanking. Also, on maps for city defense against Assault there should be some pits or mounds as that is a defensive strategy that is used in real warfare, it would add to game play. think about it
Fixed it for you. OCD will be my bane one day.
Also. Even though I fixed it to make more sense, it still doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Game is an arcade sim, not a true sim. Historically tanks engaged and longer distances, which is partly why German were rather effective in World War II (engagements took place at thousands of meters rather than hundreds). With tank designs Russian tanks tend to have the advantage in the more brawling gameplay that you see here.
Same reason that ramming damage is included. It was a valid tactic at various times for the Russians (used rather effectively when the Germans were close to breaking out during the battle of Kursk). As with everything else in the game it is an abstraction of an actual tactic.
Edit:
More fixing: demolition *derby* not durby

Nice Eye.
Ramming is a valid tactic in the game that's well used as a situational Tactic...used in the right situation. Think of Ramming as any tanks "Secondary Attack" that causes Physical contact and has heavy recoil consequences if it isn't used well. You have to Ram with the right tank at the right speed for it to be effective.

Ramming is a very viable tactic. Historically, a lot of ramming took place. I think that there was even a time that a russian tank rammed a german one so hard (this was in WW2), that the german one went on top of the other. Anyways, I use ramming, but I don't "spam" it. For instance, a few minutes ago I was in a match with my T20. I killed both a T32 and a Pershing by taking them down to about 50 health (with my 90), then ramming them. I got 3 kills this way.

It's ideal to ram because you never get perma tracked yourself. Make it Perma track the rammer 50% of the time and it would reflect the suicide mission tactic it is...

The game is indeed about shooting and strategy, partially. How is sneaking up on your opponent and pushing them off a cliff not strategy?

I'll ram you repeatedly with my KV-5.

Don't get rid of ramming. I howl with laughter everytime a small scout or tank rams my t95, E75, T110E3 etc and then **EXPLODE** gloriously. Gawd, you can't let that be taken away from me.

I like the ramming as well, but seriously tired of paying money out to team mates the run into me. People just intentionally ram us all the time, and we get charged, PLEASE FIX!!!
