question for the more computer savy. Started playing tonight and my ping was 800-999. Thats something new for me. I reset my router but the problem persisted. I then ping my computer and my ip and it showed everything normal but the high ping persisted in the game. I asked other players if they were having problems and they said their ping was normal. Any ideas to what is going on here?

your problem is that there is 39,000 people on right now, and WGNA still isnt addressing the issue of server overload

Is your ping really high in other multi-player games?

Just think of the little countrys that NA have to support that have ISP's that barely can run a checker game much less handle all the packets a MMO game needs to tranfer lol... and they play in the 6 and 7 hundered ping range that is not a good way to play the game. I may add it's know fault of the player if they can't get good ISP's but WG should put a limit on the ping count to enter the game.....CHEERS

So you're saying (essentially) because i play with a 300+ ping i disadvantage my team? lol. I would prefer they put a limit on winrate and only allow those with 50% or greater to participate, but wait, that would leave you out. Oh well, no loss.

A Big YES to your question, In my day when we had control of the servers we would kick player with nore than 50 ping count......Now back to the Stats or W/R. I had a win rate stat of 57 so did that make me any better than a 46 stats I don't think so, and if your ego is that big you playing tthe wrong game. I started playing random battles, when I got tired of waitting around to play clan battles and didn't care about getting help from clans to boost my stats. If that is your goal your average is about right for a clan memeber with playing with a good team that works to gether. So if thats your goal to have the highest stats more luck to you. My goal is to have fun, and not waitting around for a clan to tell me what tank to take alone. I may in time go back into a Clan if I do you better be ready my stats in random battles don't show you how I fight......I have afew tier 10's ...I got them on my own except the Maus, which I got as a clans man, and other than that the rest was grined by my self not with the help of appox 90 clan mens supporting me getting them, now you have a nice day and good luck to you and your clan which seems to have good players in the future of WOT.....CHEERS

Just tried again and still well over 800 ping. Logged into WoW and had no problems with lag whatsoever. Same with UO. Its definitely only with WoT. Could it be a terminal or what not between them and me causing the problem? Thank goodness I got all my 5x's earlier today before this.

AND same crap this morning. 999 latency. Logged into WoW and have under 100 ms ping so it's not on my end. Kind of game breaking.

...no.  Usually, a 'server' is actually several sets of servers working together. Each server handles a separate function that adds up to the game you see.

For example, back in the day when I played WoW, if a server crashed, a continent might go down, but you could still log in and play somewhere else in the world.  Additionally, the login server is a separate function from gameplay, although if it crashes, it could kick everyone, or just not allow anyone else in.

There is a website you can check.  Don't remember what it is right now, but the last time I looked, the ping for the US was around 40 ms.  That does not take into account ISP throttle, bad modems, or a  slow computer.

I'd much rather have a 400ms+ ping player with a 55% win rate than a 40ms ping player with a 46% win rate.

It's a server-sided issue. Nothing you can do and Wargaming wants to do about it. (I've witnessed on a reliable Telekom line at 30k+ players, too. Evading this with various close VPN servers didn't help, so it's definately server-sided)

Hmmm. That blows. I have played this game for a couple years and this never happened before. Hope they figure this out because I am effectively locked out of playing with 999 ping. Heck, when I went and tried the SEA server it was better than what I have here at the moment. I live in Idaho btw and have hi speed quest so I dont think the problem is on my end but just wanted to see what the advice from more comp savy people than me was. Anyways thanks all for the input. See ya in game-hopefully.

my computer is a quad core jive mombo with upgraded graphics card. I can run every other game at max settings with no lag. Any more clues you could give me as to that website would be greatly appreciated.
