I wasn't sure which category to put this in, since the Panther is a Med of course, but my initial problem is with Lights, so here it is:

I like a bit of Light tank madness from time to time, but mainly I'm a TD driver, so I need  some advice. I presently have both a Pz 35 (t) and a Pz II. One day, I would like to have a Panther - because they're so sexy dammit!

Now with the present tech tree, my research route is plain: From the Pz II, next step is Pz III A. There is no research route from the Pz 35 (t) to the Panther. However, on the full tech tree there is and it's one step shorter. Since it's going to take me a long time to work my way up to the Tier 8s, I think it's quite likely, that before I'm very far along, we'll be into release and both routes will be available. The cautious move is to go Pz II > Pz IIIA, but the IIIA doesn't seem too popular. If I go Pz 35 (t) > Pz 38 (t) however, I may end up in a dead end.

So really my question is: What is the most fun route to the Panther? In particular, which is better Pz III A or Pz 38 (t)?

I went pIV>VK3001H>VK3001P>VK3002DB>Panther and loved every minute of it
