I personally like the fact that the BDR is tall, it lets it shoot over friendlies and some obstacles.

The ARL 44 stock grind was... not my favorite. The F3 is a good gun and will get you to the DCA 45 without too much hassle, for me it was all about getting out of the coffin turret, getting the DCA 45, and then getting the engine. I also nabbed the 105 for occasional goofing around and getting the 105 in the ARL 44 will give you a gun you can use in the M4 (1945) until you get ITS second turret.

The second engine will allow you to keep up with the crowd, just like the B1's better engines allow it to keep up. Expect to be gruelingly slow and unable to respond to threats across the map.

I did not find it a real weakness either, it's just something to be mindful of, especially when you're doing things like using the overhead bridges on Port (highly not recommended).

I'm about 3-4000 XP away from the turret. The turret doesn't even give that much credits from selling it. Cheap bastards. The turret and hull traverse are horribly slow. I hope the upgrades improve this, even if only by a little.

Added more detailed thoughts on the "Ariel".

There is a certain 'optimal height' in the game, it use to be about 10' but now it about 8'.

I would categorize BDR's height as 'it doesn't matter', mostly because it is relying on its gun and its gun alone, not anything else.

Hull traverse will not improve, that thing just couldn't turn.

Turret is a double edge sword; on one hand you can mount better guns, but on the other hand its side is only 30mm thick.
