Well not entirely. We will just get our credits back....
From EU forum post
by their community manager.
There are players who are spending a lot of credits and then sell.
I inform you that the price you pay to sell ammunition in 8.4 will be 85 credits.
Double confirmed post.

26 pages long, 225 people currently viewing topic.... You're all excited about what tomorrow may bring.... It will give you one of 2 things.
A - A stockpile of shells.
B - Your money back.
For shells purchased in 8.3, they sell back for the same value in 8.4,
for shells purchased in 8.4, they sell back for their increased value in 8.4
Buying a ton of shells now does nothing for you except fill your depot with lots of HE shells for the 20 pounder. Sorry folks, the Developers were on to this. The spike in purchases especially today was kinda huge.
Be aware that so far two community managers confirmed this for the EU server.
NA server could be in too.
EU CM confirmed the changes for NA server
The shell value is the same for NA as it is EU.
Apparently RU server got to profit from selling the shells at 130cr!
There is no such thing as russian bias lol!
Aftermath :Russians got away with it

No one noticed anything strange going down on RU server
We understand the concern, but unfortunately we cannot make a statement on what might happen to those that were able to take advantage of this, as it is against our policy to publicly discuss account sanctions.

Wats the deal WG?
You're forgetting the RU cluster got this update on February 28th, with the full notes only being available for a few hours before. The major issue only appeared on the EU and NA clusters.
I'm sorry you're upset by this, but we're not going to allow an additional 2.5 billion credits to enter the game economy because of this.

Stats went crazyonly for NA EU
The issue is that the game is balanced in a way that progression takes a certain amount of time. There is a reason we do not discount tier X vehicles, and that is it. In a lot of cases -- believe me we've spent the past few days reviewing them -- this would have resulted in the ability to get a tier X vehicle completely free just by clicking a few buttons over the course of a minute at most. That's fairly game breaking.

How many shells stockpiled?
To put it in better perspective, the credits spent on these shells increased by 35,459% when comparing yesterday -- when the issue was most discussed -- to the day before the update notes were available. That's something we can't sweep under the rug.

Okay, let's remove the potential manipulation then. 1 thousand shells were purchased on February 27th. 56 million shells were purchased yesterday alone.
